My name is Davy the bagpiper. I am an accomplished performer both as a soloist and a pipes and drums band member. I am a firefighter, which has given me the opportunity to play bagpipes in honor guard performances, a tradition richly kept by many fire departments. I currently play bagpipes with the OCFA Pipes and Drums band. I have a very wide selection of tunes in my repertoir including hymns, traditional marches, pub party tunes, highland dance tunes, Christmas tunes, funeral tunes, wedding tunes and everything in between. One of my specialties that no other piper offers is having sets where I not only play the bagpipes, but I play the bass drum at the same time. It adds an element of excitement and creates a great beat to whatever music is being played with it. If you are interested in a unique celebration, consider having a piper escort you around on a pub crawl! This is a tour of local bars/taverns, usually for birthday parties or other celebrations. Imagine walking into a bar, being heralded by bagpipes! Believe me, you are going to want a piper with lots of energy and experience to make this outing a success. This type of event is one of my specialties. I am a devoted bagpiping performer and lifelong student of the art and technique of the instrument. Many bagpipers tend to try and learn a handful of popular tunes and play them mediocrely for more money than they are worth. I have made it a commitment to perfect the instrument. I also am NOT a stiff. I'm young, energetic, flexible and self aware. I know what my audience needs to hear, how to entertain and most importantly, know how to sound good. I am also very familiar with more somber gatherings and can contribute a regal, respectful, beautiful addition when the moment calls for it. I take pride in my work and always strive to deliver a perfect performance to my clients. I have a good sense of the needs of whatever gathering I am performing at. I usually suggest what I feel is best in respect to what tunes, how many tunes, and when these tunes should be played. I will stress that I am flexible and will do whatever you would like me to do.
