Seems there was big misinterpretation. She seemed happy w/ work @ party & tipped me extra. I was told wd be 7 children for 5 yr old b'day party. Started w/ glitter tattoos. They loved them & more & more older people wanted them. @ one point I suggested temporary switch to face paint so young children can get them before may need to leave, then I'd be willing to stay till dark (extra 2+ hours free) for more glit tats, etc. on teens/adults. Hostess then said I shd only paint youngest children & did not allow any other work. I felt bad, especially as one teen really wanted paint, & other teens/adults wanted glitter tats, etc, that I wanted to do, but hostess wdn't allowReview by Claudia B.

As client was told, I was coming from an out-of-town face & body art convention & kept in touch but unfortunately was late. When I responded to bid request I clearly said 1 hour not enough for balloons & face painting for so many children. I gave children a choice. First child chose balloon, the rest followed her. Then one wanted face also. I said we'll see if time for 2nd turn. Was only time for a few & hostess protested. I worked 40 extra free minutes. As I told her, refrain from swords was to protect her very nice home with a lot of people in small area since children tend to get wild in sword fights. She did not disagree then, in which case I would have made sworReview by Tova C.

Did make driving mistakes on way. I'm glad she found most early "gripes" humorous - that's how they were intended! She was busy with other things & tangentially around when I arrived & set up, so maybe that's why misinterpreted. I have knee trouble, which is not usually an issue, as very few stairs in Florida. She had steep ones w/o banisters. It was challenging getting me & my stuff (most of which is in large cooler on wheels) up & down steps. When male magician arrived, I had just gotten me & stuff in. He asked me to get him help for his stuff. I conveyed that beyond his earshot with some comparison humour. Btw, she told me of a stair-free route for leaving :)Review by Lori P.

I was quite surprised to receive this review. I like constructive criticism so I can learn and improve, but I really don't know what this review is about. I twisted balloons and painted faces for all children who wanted, and some adults. I also gave a number of the women glitter tattoos. Though hired for 1 1/2 hours, I worked over two hours until the requests for balloons, facepainting and glitter tattoos ended. No complaints were raised at the party. I did not see the hostess much - she said she was busy in the kitchen while I and most guests were outside. When I left she said, seemingly sincerely, that she was very pleased with and thankful for my entertainmReview by Karyn B.

When I called about travel delay coming from out-of-town in inclement weather, she said it was absolutely OK & of no concern. Throughout the party I kept hearing oo's, ah's & wow's at the artwork. I felt bad about the delay though, so threw in a bunch of extra time for free after verifying it was OK with the mom, they weren't going anywhere after. When I did, in a firm and friendly way, deny more requests other than late arrivals & extra for the birthday child while I cleaned up, apparently those gently turned away considered it rude for me not to grant all requests. I've learned a bit to not have dissatisfaction based in unrealistic expectations repeat.Review by Christina M.

I am glad that I prodded the sister at the end for specific input, otherwise this would have been a total shock. Our memories of my being engaged in fun ways with many children throughout the party apparently differ. Apparently there was an early issue raised to the mother, which seems to have affected her view of the whole party, including when she was often not in my area. I was told that a mom was upset because I apparently asked a child, I believe more than once, to please stop repeatedly taking/touching balloons, etc. and to look with his eyes, not his hands. There were a number of children coming near me for fun throughout the party.Review by Devon R.

I began seconds as soon as all children who wanted and were waiting for firsts got them. The only exception was that I did make something for one of the birthday twins I had not seen (busy in bounce house) based on what other guests said he was interested in.Review by Robert A.

Thank you for the high rating. I'm sorry to read that there was an issue. I was hired as one artist for 1 1/2 hours, but provided two artists. We were both busy the entire time. I had other obligations afterwards and could not, nor was requested to, stay beyond the 1 1/2 hours. During the last 10 or 20 minutes, when it was clear all children's requests would take longer, we assigned line cut-offs, with the general policy exception, for fairness, that all children present should receive at least one balloon creation or facepainting. This way, even those whose parents wanted them to wait until after eating, or were in arcade longer, had a chance to get something.Review by Fari T.

I do not understand this, since at the party she only praised my work and kept saying how happy she was with my services. Maybe she misinterpreted the scoring.Review by Kelly B.

I was unfortunately running 45 minutes behind & tried to call, left a message at the venue, then client called me.She pleasantly said it was fine, kids were just getting served dessert.I first set up where she asked but the venue was so dimly lit I couldn't see the faces, shapes and colors I was painting. The first child was her daughter, wearing a pink dress & introduced herself as Thumbelina.Tho very dark, to my memory I painted a center rose & side hearts on her forehead, connected with. Strand of pearls, with cheek & eye accents, all in colors complementing her complexion & dress. it was very challenging to paint delicate in the dark.
