The Asheville Mountain Boys (formerly Asheville Cats), consists of Asheville based musicians Zeb Gambill, John Duncan, Jacob Brewer, and Marshall Brown. Each of these musicians has a unique background of musical influences, but they share a love of traditional bluegrass music. Their influences span from first-generation bluegrass musicians, like Bill Monroe and the Stanley Brothers, through the 1960s with acts like the Kentucky Colonels and Red Allen, up to Tony Rice and The Bluegrass Album Band. The Asheville Mountain Boys highlight instrumentation as well as the emotionally charged harmonies of traditional bluegrass music.

This rock the mic concert was very short notice. I found the band in the bash and saw there videos and I was blown away! Booked them they showed up and was absolutely outstanding. There talent was top notch and music left everyone wanting more!

The Asheville Cats did not disappoint! They were all super friendly and professional. Arrived on time and well prepared. They took into consideration what we were looking for and played songs which were appealing to our group. Their music and personalities added a lot to the atmosphere and energy of the party. It was a perfect balance of music and entertainment. Their presence was perfect and we were all still able to mingle and catch up with each other. I highly recommend these guys for any of your live music needs!
