The Chuck Nation Band is a world class ensemble of award-winning performers and one of the most entertaining and versatile groups in bluegrass/acoustic music. They made their Carnegie Hall debut performance in New York City in 2015. They have performed in concert at the historic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, TN, and were the 2016 Georgia Music Awards nominees for Artist Of The Year. Close harmony singing and superb instrumental playing are the hallmarks of their distinctive sound. Lively, fun, and engaging, the Chuck Nation Band fills the room with toe-tapping rhythms and songs that echo from the hills to the heart. Chuck Nation has performed across the United States and in more than 20 countries. A gifted vocalist, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist, he is equally at home on fiddle, banjo, mandolin, and guitar. His distinguished career includes performances at The Grand Ole Opry, Carnegie Hall, the New Orleans World’s Fair, the Savannah Music Festival, and in productions such as Smoke on the Mountain, Always Patsy Cline, and Come Away to the Skies: A High Lonesome Mass. Chuck has shared stages with an impressive range of artists, from Ernest Tubb, Mother Maybelle Carter, and Bill Monroe to Mac Davis, John Hartford, Charley Pride, and John Anderson. A former member of the legendary Bluegrass Alliance of Louisville, Kentucky, whose alumni include Vince Gill, Sam Bush, and Tony Rice, Chuck helped shape the modern Newgrass sound that continues to influence generations of musicians. Susan Nation is an acclaimed singer, songwriter, and bassist whose music spans Bluegrass, Americana, and Gospel. Much of the band’s repertoire features her original songs, showcasing her gift for crafting heartfelt and timeless lyrics. Her rich vocals and steady bass playing provide the band’s rhythmic and emotional foundation, making her a favorite among audiences everywhere. She has performed at the New Orleans World’s Fair, the Savannah Music Festival, and has toured extensively in Japan, Ireland, and throughout the United States, sharing the band’s signature blend of musical excellence and uplifting spirit. Libby Nation is a versatile vocalist and multi-instrumentalist who has performed at some of the world’s most iconic venues. She has played at Wembley Stadium, The Hollywood Palladium, and on major network TV shows including The Late Night with David Letterman, the Tonight Show with Jay Leno, and Late Show with Conan O’Brien. Her career has included international tours throughout Europe, Japan, China, and the U.S. In addition to performing with the Chuck Nation Band, Libby maintains a thriving online teaching studio, offering private lessons in piano, guitar, mandolin, bass, drums, singing, and songwriting to students across the country. Joe Kimsey holds a degree in Music and Recording Technology from South Plains College in Levelland, TX, one of the first schools in the nation to offer a degree in country and bluegrass music. While there, he refined his banjo skills under the influence of bluegrass greats Stuart Duncan and Mike Bub. Joe has toured extensively across the U.S., performing with The Hendricks Family of TN, Tom Uhr & the Shady Grove Ramblers of TX, and GA bands Fontana Sunset and Magnolia Express. Now traveling and performing with the Chuck Nation Band, he also enjoys time in the studio recording and teaching banjo to the next generation of pickers.
