About
Crossroads is a bluegrass/gospel band with downhome musical appeal for the whole family! The group features three lead singers, seamless 3-part harmonies and all are talented acoustical musicians as well. Our songs feature great instrumentals on the fiddle, banjo, guitar, mandolin and bass. Our members have over 150+ years combined experience. The red-headed fiddle player is a two-time winner at the famed Georgia's Official State Fiddlers' Convention in Hiawassee and our banjo player received high honors at the Folk Song Competition at the Old Fiddler's Convention in Galax, Virginia. Two of our members have recorded solo CD's in Nashville with some of Nashville's best musicians.

Crossroads' music is sure to entertain you and your guests with their fun toe-tappin' pickin' and grinnin' repertoire of great songs. Additionally, you will be entertained with a few good-hearted humorous stories along the way. We specialize in group events, parties, church events, weddings, corporate events, and can also provide for intimate, acoustic “unplugged” settings. Our fiddle/violinist player can play beautiful traditional and contemporary wedding songs-- depending on what your need may be!

Crossroads is a well-established bluegrass/gospel band from Dawsonville Georgia and has an enthusiastic following in north Georgia. We have played in Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, North Carolina and Florida.

Crossroads can provide our own sound system for any size audience.

We can specialize for your event with 2, 3 ,4 or 5 players.

Sharon Wenson (fiddle/violin, lead and harmony vocals). Sharon began performing at a young age with her two brothers in a gospel trio travelling throughout the U.S., Canada and Mexico. She has classical violin training and experience with symphony orchestras, but also loves down-home fiddlin' music and a heart that's dedicated to Christian ministry. Sharon has also been a top fiddle winner at the Georgia's' Official State Fiddlers' Convention in Hiawassee multiple times. She has performed on numerous CD recordings and most recently completed her first solo CD with Grammy Award-winning musicians from Ricky Skaggs Band, The Del McCoury Band and Sierra Hull's Band. Sharon loves to play music and entertain at the highest level.

Sharon's husband, Mike, manages the business aspects of Crossroads and handles the sound engineering requirements.

Keith Davis (bass guitar and story teller). Keith has played many types of music to influence his style over the last forty plus years. Keith's love of bluegrass, country and especially gospel music, guides him to maintain a traditional sound on the bass guitar. His storytelling and sense of humor plays a vital part in this well-rounded, complete band of entertainers!

Travis Barrett (banjo, lead and harmony vocals). Travis's interest in playing and performing music began in his high school years as vocalist and keyboard player in a band with hometown friends. He then joined his church's youth choir and began playing guitar. He developed a love for many genres of music but grew especially fond of acoustic and bluegrass styles, which led him to learn to play the banjo and Appalachian dulcimer. Travis has over 35 years of playing and performing gospel, folk, and bluegrass music. Travis has three recording projects to his credit. On his most recent "LONG JOURNEY HOME" CD, he features his banjo, guitar and vocals, alongside several Nashville recording artists and studio musicians such as Mark Fain, Cody Kilby, Justin Moses and Darrell Toney.

Bob Cannon (guitar, lead and harmony vocals). Bob started his first rock band when he was 15 years old and over the years has played in folk groups, rock and country rock bands. In 1977, he heard a Doc Watson album and has been focused on acoustic and bluegrass music ever since. Bob also has enjoyed stage theater, especially musicals. He sang and played his guitar in contemporary musical productions in Illinois as well as in Georgia at The University of North Georgia. Bob's first bluegrass group played in the professional production of Cotton Patch Gospel presented by UNG and Brenau University in North Georgia.

We LOVED having this band at our wedding! What a fun, talented, easy to work with group of musicians! From the moment we started planning the live music portion of our wedding, Sharon was communicative, organized, and professional. As soon as the band started playing, we knew we'd made the right choice. This group excels at their trade and pumps out traditional, danceable bluegrass and gospel that a lot of people can sing along to. Our guests and even some of the other vendors commented on the quality of the music. It's worth noting that this was an LGBTQ wedding and all our vendors were pretty cool with it! Thanks for a great evening, Crossroads.

We booked Crossroads for my grandmother's 90th birthday party and they were wonderful. The music had the entire family dancing, and I heard countless times "these guys are really good". Their closing song brought a smile and a tear to my grandmother's eye and it's a moment the family will always treasure. Logistically they were extremely professional, prompt, and accommodating. I highly recommend this group.

Our annual Chamber of Commerce county fair needed a makeover, so we decided to add live music. The fair had a "pioneer harvest" theme, so we chose a bluegrass band. We researched many bands and decided Crossroads would be the best. They were. Rather than a concert, Crossroads provided lively, ambient music that flowed through the entire event. Fun to watch folks moving from booth to booth, dancing as they walked. Parents with babies in their arms bounced in time to the music. Little kids danced. Seniors linked arms and tapped their feet. We had some professional musicians in the audience - all agreed Crossroads was topnotch. We hope to have them back next year.

This band was the greatest. am a musician. I am picky about sound, acoustics, blend, harmony, rhythm. They have it all. No trouble, no compromises, on time (even earlier), set up and take down fast, the violinist is classically trained. Banjo is award winning. Bass and guitar well healed in their instrument. For a 2 hour gig, they were perfect, even came with a sound man to adjust the levels if too loud for the room at no charge. You can't go wrong, and gigmaster guarantees they will show up. ((The last band I hired, on my own , canceled 2 days before the gig). This group was the hit of my party. Hire them, you won't be disappointed (birthday, adult)

Having Crossroads perform for our event was a truly wonderful experience. The band is fantastic, and when a situation arose in which another band we had scheduled to perform was unable to do so at the last minute, Crossroads almost immediately offered to accommodate us by performing during the other band's original time slot. I am thoroughly impressed by Crossroads, and will most definitely book Crossroads to perform for us again in the future!
