Headin' Home Bluegrass is a family band from Savannah, GA that provides bluegrass and bluegrass gospel music for festivals, church functions, fundraisers, receptions, and private events. We perform uplifting, family-style bluegrass from traditional favorites and toe-tapping instrumentals to exciting new originals.
The six-piece bluegrass band is comprised of award-winning instrumentalists on banjo, mandolin, guitar, dobro, fiddle, and bass; featuring fresh young musicianship, blazing fast picking, and tight family vocal harmonies.
Our band placed semi-finalists in the 2020 SPBGMA International Band Competition in Nashville, TN. We are Headin' Home... Bluegrass with a destiny!

About the Band:
Jon plays upright bass and sings lead and harmony vocals. His rock-solid rhythm is the backbone of our bluegrass groove! As our MC, he has a delightful way with crowds and is sure to keep you on the edge of your seat!
Marina plays fiddle. Her exciting style adds a flash to our music... watch for that smoke flying out of her bow! She also enjoys writing original music, and has contributed some great originals to our sets!
Luke is our resophonic guitar (dobro) player. With influences such as well-known reso legends Andy Hall, Mike Witcher, and Rob Ickes, you'll hear him shredding up those licks in every show! Luke also sings bass vocals. He's 22 years old.
Libby, 20, plays acoustic bluegrass guitar. She has studied with true masters of the style, Bryan Sutton and Jake Workman (guitarist with Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder). Libby also delights audiences with her lead and harmony vocals, and writes many of our original songs!
Lucy, age 18, plays mandolin. She's a crowd favorite everywhere we go! From her powerful chop to her blazing-fast solos, she adds a sparkly touch to every song! Lucy also sings lead and harmony vocals.
Timothy is our banjo player! With his hard-driving bluegrass roll and fun personality, he keeps our songs driving, our whole band laughing, and our audiences asking for encores! At only 16 years old, he is a talented and natural performer.
The bluegrass band has been together for 3 years, while prior to that all of the musicians have had many more years of experience in other musical styles. Jon and Marina both graduated from Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York, and performed as classical musicians in the Savannah Symphony for many years. Since forming a bluegrass band with their four oldest children, they have played at many different stages all over the Southern US!
Some of the places where we've performed:
We've had the pleasure of playing at church services, festivals, outdoor performances, fundraisers, community events, nursing homes, private events, parties, receptions, rehearsals, and corporate functions. We have performed at both of the USA's two biggest events in bluegrass: IBMA (International Bluegrass Music Association) in Raleigh, NC in 2019; and SPBGMA (Society for the Preservation of Bluegrass Music in America) in Nashville, TN in 2020.
