Astrograss Bluegrass Band from Beacon, NY

Formed in Brooklyn in 2003 and now based in the Hudson Valley, Astrograss is an all-acoustic bluegrass and Americana string band with a sound all its own. For more than 20 years, we've been bringing our distinctive blend of bluegrass, roots music, and unexpected musical influences to audiences throughout the Northeast and beyond. Our performance history includes appearances at the Grey Fox Bluegrass Festival, South by Southwest, Joe's Pub, BAM Harvey Theater, BB King's Blues Club, and Symphony Space, along with hundreds of private parties, weddings, corporate events, festivals, and other special occasions. What makes Astrograss different is our combination of traditional bluegrass instrumentation, adventurous musicianship, and a repertoire that goes far beyond the usual bluegrass standards. With more than 300 songs in our repertoire, we move comfortably between traditional bluegrass, old-time music, Americana, classic country, Celtic tunes, classic rock, soul, and contemporary hits. We put our own acoustic, bluegrass-inspired spin on familiar songs, creating a sound that's lively, engaging, and distinctive. Whether we're playing a bluegrass standard, a classic rock favorite, or a contemporary pop song, we bring the same musicality, energy, and sense of fun to everything we play. Our goal is to give guests music they recognize and love, presented in a fresh and unexpected way. We understand that every event has its own personality, and we're happy to tailor the music to fit yours. Our flexible lineup ranges from a three-piece group to a full six-piece band featuring guitar, fiddle, mandolin, upright bass, banjo, and dobro, with an optional percussionist to add extra groove when dancing is a priority. We can provide relaxed background music that lets guests mingle and talk, build the energy as the party gets going, or deliver a lively performance that gets everyone on the dance floor. We bring our own professional sound equipment and adjust the volume to suit your space and the atmosphere you're looking for. Over the years, we've played everything from intimate backyard gatherings and milestone birthday parties to weddings, corporate celebrations, and large-scale festival stages. Whatever the occasion, we pride ourselves on being reliable, personable, and easy to work with. We love what we do, we love connecting with an audience, and we believe live music should be more than just entertainment in the background—it should be part of what makes an event memorable. With Astrograss, you get experienced musicians, a huge variety of music, and a fun, original sound that gives your guests something a little different.
