As per your description they were extremely well behaved and fun to draw. The venue, Franscesca's was an excellent venue choice with the right ambiance for your party. I wish I had more time to draw the rest of the adults. Maybe that will happen for next big birthday bash or other family event. Barton was absolutely great. He was responsive and professional from the beginning. We hired him and another artist many months before our event. The other artist canceled one month before the event and Barton stepped up to the plate, adding extra hours to ensure our event was taken care of. Everyone absolutely loved his work. He was a pleasure to work with and I definitely recommend him to anyone needing an artist.

Mr. McGee of Caricatures by McGee did a great job at my birthday party event. I had met him 14 years prior at a Bar Mitzvah when he was doing caricatures and he was fabulous. I kept his card and found him on The Bash website. So glad he was available for my party. Everyone loved their prints and he does a great job of interacting with people to produce the best caricatures.

Barton did caricatures at our wedding 10 years ago and we had the excellent idea of re-inviting him to my husband’s birthday party. He was a total hit! Originally hired for two hours, Barton had such a fan club and queue that he ended up staying until the party ended. His personal and empathetic approach allows Barton to truly capture the essence, the character, the quirks of the sitter - and the results are brilliant! What a talent! Book him, you won’t regret it.

A very belated but greatly appreciated thank you. I get return clients but only once before have a gotten one from ten years ago. Most of my events can be quite raucous but yours sets the record for being the most relaxing and enjoyable thanks to your many wonderful friends. Had a GREAT experience booking Barton McGee for my daughter's HS graduation party. He did an amazing job drawing caricatures for guest after guest, pretty much non-stop from the time he got there. I had booked him for 2 hours, but he stayed longer to accommodate everyone. The caricatures were fantastic and he was great with our friends and family in capturing their personalities. I'd definitely recommend him and will hire him again... Super happy with how it went and Caricatures by McGee was definitely a highlight of the party.

It is all about setting proper expectations. Mr. McGee was VERY professional and on time to the event. We had discussed logistics and I had advised the number of guests in attendance which translated to the number of caricatures to be drawn I was under the assumption there was adequate time allocated for my party to draw all guests who signed up. I provided a sign-up sheet and 26 couples signed up. Due to running out of time, we only got halfway thru the list. That was a disappointment for some folks. I did not step in and chat with Mr. McGee during the sittings for fear of being disruptive! Perhaps I should have. Next time I book an artist, I will book two!

We had Barton set up a caricature station for our wedding in Naperville. He also brought an associate named Adam who both did an incredible job. We wanted to do something a little different for our wedding (instead of the over done photo booth) and all of our guests were raving about the caricatures. Family members were in tears laughing about their pictures. Unfortunately, with everything going on during the wedding we never had time to get our caricature done. We were a little bummed (especially after seeing how funny they were) but then Barton sent a very kind hearted email, letting us know if we sent him pictures he could still do one for us! Great guy!
