Wedding CeremonyReviewed on August 16, 2011From Bedford, NH

Though I didn't get a chance to talk to Gaku on the day of our wedding, numerous people came over to me at the reception to tell me how wonderful he was during the cocktail hour and ceremony. They noted how talented he is and how much they enjoyed his music. He was very easy to work with and was very responsive to any questions I had throughout the process. I would definitely recommend him to a friend in the future!

I have nothing but amazing things to say about Gaky Murata. Gaku was not only a true professional, but a true talent as well. As a die hard music fan(Phish/Jazz/Funk), I was amazed at how well Gaku learned the songs I requested. He made our wedding ceremony absolute perfection and an exact match of how we pictured it all those months leading up to the big day.....only better! Without question I would recommend him for any wedding ceremony out there no matter what the style....classical, funky, or otherwise. Thank you Gaku for providing us with such happiness on our wedding day.

Wedding Cocktail HourReviewed on September 5, 2010From Boston, MA

Gaku made me a little nervous when he pressed for a separate contract after I sent my initial deposit - it seemed in poor taste to ask me to pay for parking for him and his band - all after we agreed to a price and I sent a non refundable deposit. In the end my fears were without reason and Gaku (playing guitar) and Victoria, I believe was her name (playing cello)were incredible in every way. They were both professional and accommodating to changes and they both played beautifully. I would recommend using them at your function.

Gaku Murata Solo Guitar/String Duo/String trio and Project DCQ were fantastic. They were amazing and everything went perfect with our wedding. Hiring him (them) was one of the best choices we made in my wedding. Our guest's loved this band and everyone had a great time. Everyone is still raving about them. Thanks for making this day even more special for us. Amy & Don Carlin - Martha's Vineyard 2008

Wedding Cocktail HourReviewed on October 2, 2009From Boxford, MA

I thought that Gaku was great in terms of talent and professionalism, his music was wonderful. However I did not find him to be very friendly or personable. Also, he would sometimes take days to respond to emails about the event which was somewhat frustrating.

He did a beautiful job! Everyone had nothing but wonderful things to say about his performance, and I received compliments all night about my choice for ceremony musician. Also learned a new song per my request and played it perfectly! Could not have chosen a better musician for my wedding! SO PLEASED!

Wedding Cocktail HourReviewed on July 29, 2012From Cambridge, MA

Gaku was scheduled to play at our wedding but had to cancel because of a family/medical emergency in Japan. He handled this exceptionally well. He sent the two members of his trio to replace him. They were excellent.

Gaku was amazing!! We had our ceremony in a stone chapel and he made it perfect!! I wanted more modern music not the traditional music and he was more then accomidating. I will never forget my day or the beautful guitar in the back ground. Thank you Gaku!!

Corporate FunctionReviewed on May 3, 2017From Newport Beach, CA

Gaku Murata really delivered! The duo performed guitar and cello at a corporate reception and dinner at Pelican Hill and received many compliments from the attendees. All questions were answered quickly by email and Gaku confirmed ahead of time. The duo arrived in plenty of time to set up and were very helpful and responsive to our needs and requests. Very talented and flexible. I would hire again for sure! You should too!!

WeddingReviewed on June 22, 2016From Beverly Hills, CA

The only unfortunate part of book Gaku was that I was not able to fully enjoy his music/talent on our wedding day. From what I've heard from guests, though, is that they all really enjoyed listening to him play. I am just so thankful that we were able to add him as a part of both our ceremony and cocktail hour. Thank you!!

They were phenomenal. No complaints at all. If I had to do it all over again I would most definitely choose Gaku murata string duo.
