The music was absolutely beautiful, my wedding dreams came true. Their music created such a romantic atmosphere and I would recommend Amethyst Trio to anyone looking for musicians. Thank you so incredibly much for making our day so incredibly special!!
SOLE WINNER of GM's prestigious "Top Classical Trio" Rising Star award for the past 11 YEARS throughout the US and Canada. "Exquisite!" "Amazing" "...brought tears of joy..". That's what people have said about Amethyst trio, a Classical trio & quartet that also plays authentic crossover contemporary styles. Exquisitely lovely trio of harp, violin & cello and a dynamic contemporary/Classical piano trio (violin, cello, piano) that knows how to rock Beethoven and Coldplay. Also winner of "Best of” every year from 2012-2018, won “Couples Choice Award 2019” on Wedding Wire and voted "Best of” by Bay Area brides on The Knot. As a 5-star performer, Lara Garner has been booked over 540 times here on GM since 2007.
Besides concert and orchestral work, we have performed on TV, motion pictures, MTV music videos and our musicians have played with internationally renowned touring artists such as Eric Clapton, Jay-Z, Placido Domingo, Barbra Streisand, Johnny Matthis, the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, etc We have also played events for celebrities such as Jason Newsted of Metallica, Neal Shoen of Journey, Chinese film star Xiaoquing Liu, former Indianapolis Colts player Jason Tafrallis and for many events featuring well-known personalities such as astronaut Buzz Aldrin, Antwane Woods of the Tennessee Titans and Josh Shaw of the Cincinnati Bengals.
We play all the standard wedding classics, so our audio samples here are meant to show you what we offer that other groups do not. Not only are we professional Classical musicians, but also play authentic rock & jazz styles, so we are well-suited to both an elegant wedding ceremony and also a party event where a more lively atmosphere is desired. All our musicians are great improv players, so special requests are not a problem.
We have a top-of-the line Bose sound amplification system for our instruments -so our group can be heard beautifully at outdoors events for up to 500 people - and smaller systems for smaller venues, as well as wireless mics for vows. This should be considered when you are looking at bids. Most Classical groups do not provide amplification. We have wireless pickups in our instruments (including the harp) and have extensive experience with managing our own sound without the need of hiring an outside sound tech. This can be a big cost-saver.
Our musicians have played in symphony halls, outdoors folk & jazz festivals, restaurants, bars, with rock bands, cafes, Las Vegas shows, rallies, and with touring companies and famous classical and pop artists. Mainly, we want to hear YOUR vision of the event, so that we can make that happen. Getting the music right is essential to your event. Our attitude is that we are there for you and we want to work with you to make your vision a reality, including special musical requests.
We also offer a spectacular package of string quartet plus harp or piano. In large elegant venues like the Rotunda at San Francisco City Hall, this quintet provides very large sound cover and is visually stunning.
**Amethyst Trio is a FULLY-INSURED vendor. This is a requirement for venues such as at SF City Hall, Museums, large hotels and many wineries and other event venues. Documentation provided upon request.** Please find out about your venue's insurance requirement before you book a musical group.
