Sam Adams Clean Comedian from Parker, CO

Hi everyone! I'm Sam Adams, the award-winning sports journalist-turned-standup comedian, keynote speaker, author, commercial actor and Master of Ceremonies. Pleasure to meet you! Fourteen times I've received The Bash/GigMasters "Best Of" award, which is based on the number of four-star or higher reviews a performer receives each year. In 2015 the site awarded me its coveted "Rising Star" award for being the top-booked comedian! I made standup comedy my full-time profession at age 49. The decision came in June 2009, after I'd received some high praises at the Great American Comedy Festival.  Well, that and a few months earlier my day job ended abruptly when the daily newspaper I worked for went out of business. It took a few years, but comedy fans around the country started to find out about me in 2018, when the “True Color” clip from my first Dry Bar Comedy special received more than 10 million social media views in less than 72 hours. Since then, the "True Color" clip has received more than 35 million views on Facebook alone.   The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette offered this review after one of my comedy performances in 2019: “Known for his prize-winning comedy and casual delivery devoid of profanity and vulgarity, (Adams) spent two hours entertaining a full house that belly-laughed and applauded too many times to count. If it’s true that laughter is the best medicine, he administered his healing brand intravenously for two solid hours.”   I spent parts of five decades covering sports for newspapers and electronic media outlets based in Denver, Colorado.  My media peers elected me Colorado’s Print Journalist of the Year in 2003. In 2019 I became the first African-American sports journalist to be inducted to the Denver Press Club’s Hall of Fame — the oldest press club in America. For 10 years I was a commentator for the Heartland Emmy-winning show Broncos Game Day Live, which aired Sundays on Denver's NBC affiliate 9News. My comedy shows often include storytelling of one-on-one encounters with some well-known personalities from the worlds of sports and entertainment. I'm a headline act, but I've also worked with a fairly lengthy list of comedians and musicians — a list that includes Grammy Award winners Gladys Knight, Al Jarreau and David Sanborn, as well as comedians Kevin Nealon, Darrell Hammond, Keenen Ivory Wayans and Craig Ferguson.
