About Vendor

The Herndon family and Handlebar J are 2007 inductees of the Arizona Music and Entertainment Hall Of Fame. The Herndon Brothers band have been together since 1986. Ray and Ron Herndon formed the group to play at their family owned honky tonk in Scottsdale Arizona, Handlebar J. The popular restaurant and club has given the Herndon Brothers a home to perfect their danceable style of country, rock and original music. Ray Herndon has been a part of Lyle Lovett's Large band since 1985 touring and recording on most of Lyle's records, was a founding member of MCA Nashville recording band McBride and The Ride in the 90s charting many country hits, co-wrote Kenny Chesney's break out hit song "Me and You", and has a solo CD entitled "Livin' the Dream". Ray's second solo release is due out soon. The Herndon Brothers have a HUGE following in Arizona. They have played for rodeo dances, special fund raising events, concert openings, as concert head-liners and countless other musical events. The Herndon Brothers have also backed many well known country acts including Toby Keith and Kenny Rogers to name a few, and are well respected in the world of national country music artists and players. The music is predominantly danceable country, with plenty of classic rock thrown in as well. The band has a well diverse list of songs. If you'd like to hear the Herndon Brothers perform live, they play at Handlebar J in Scottsdale Az. every Wed. through Sunday. But they are available upon request for your event. (The beauty of owning the club you play in.) Your guests will be impressed and will have the absolute best time dancing to The Herndon Brothers band. The band has various show options to offer: The band can do an hour or so of Ray's original music, (perhaps as an opening to the dance sets, or closing of the show). The band can do a whole evening of dance sets. The band also has connections with other great artists like Jessi Colter who also can perform with The Herndon Brothers for an additional cost. ie: Ray Herndon show, Jessi Colter show, then Herndon Brothers dance set. A combination of all of the above. If you'd like, we have close ties with the Nashville songwriting community, and can put togther a 2 hour songwriter show featuring some of Nashville's BEST and most popular songwriters. The show would include hit songs each writer has written for other artists, as well as new songs they've written and the intimate stories behind those songs. This would be in an acoustic style setting. ie: 3 singer/songwriters and their acoustic guitars. A very popular and different type of listening show. We'll customize a show to meet your needs.

Excellent! Ray engages the crowd and has such a great sense of humor. He interacts with them, played several requests and delighted my guests once again this year. So many people danced throughout the party as the band is so versatile. We knew their talent and the fun we all had last year that we didn't cancel when heavy rain was forecasted; instead we set up a huge tent. We will certainly book them again next year, come rain or shine. Jan and Dale Lindstrom.

We thoroughly enjoyed the Herndon Brothers. They were easy to contact, prompt and accommodated our changes in schedule. With Ray’s suggestion, I added lights which were provided by his sound man and that cinched the décor and ambiance. The sound man also provided spot lights for a skit we planned. Ray advertised the Handlebar J in a very tasteful manner; he just slipped it in as a matter of fact. In the words of our guests: They are so versatile with a variety of music styles, something for everybody. This was the best party I ever attended, the band was awesome. They were so friendly and entertaining. They are such great musicians. They interacted with the audience so well, it made the whole event fun. My Husband and I highly recommend them and will ask them to join us once again next year for our “Turkey in the Pit, a pre Thanksgiving event. Sincerely, Jan Lindstrom
