Mike was asked to be the "life of the party" which did not happen. Also, his choice of music could have been better.

Mike is very nice guy. But his actual work was not what we were looking for. His mics were feedbacking during our ceremony, sometimes he'd fade up in the middle or the end of a song, so we couldn't hear the whole thing. He didn't announce our first dance, so most people had no idea we even started it. At one point, he played a karaoke track for one of the songs instead of the proper vocal track.

I disagree with your assessment of my performance. I agree that there was microphone feedback. I can not explain that as they worked fine for me all night but I apologize that they did not work well for you. I played exclusively off of your play list. The exception being when your guests requested different music which I cleared with you and your wife before playing. I did announce your first dance at your brother's direction. I did play a karaoke track instead of the regular song but that was corrected immediately. Yes I faded the songs but do that to prevent dead air between songs. You did not miss much of the songs. Fading makes the party flow better.

Mike was very good about following up on the gig. He was on time and friendly. He did not take requests. I was a bit disappointed because we submitted a playlist, and he arrived without some of the important songs on the playlist. He was not as interactive as he said he would be. He basically came and played the music. Overall it was fair.

Every song that I played was on their playlist. The only songs that I did not bring were explicit versions of songs and the customer specifically asked me not to play those. I did take requests.

Mike managed to get lots of people to dance at my wedding, & for that I'm thankful. But Mike was very bad at responding to emails: when I submitted the contract & deposit online he didn't send any confirmation that I had booked his services. & 2 weeks before my wedding I emailed him 3 MP3s to be played at my wedding, and a list of 4 (popular) songs that I wanted to hear during the reception, & a question about the toasts. He never responded to the email nor confirmed that he recieved the MP3s. Then the day of my wedding he said that he didn't have one of the requested songs & the champagne toast was ruined because of the lack of communication. Not so professional.

I disagree with Heather's comments. First of all, she took over a month after the party to comment so I think her memory is lacking. I acknowledged her booking as soon as I found out about it. I responded to her emails with a phone call as well as a e-reply. I played every song on her request list. One of the songs on her list was a different version than mine, which she know about. I did botch the champagne toast by miscommunicating with the caterers but I would hardly say that it was ruined. Overall, the party went well. If she had a problem with my services, I wish she would have said something right away and not "Pearl Harbor" me a month after the fact.

He arrived early to set up. His setup was very professional looking and the sound was great. He played Christmas Music during cocktails and dinner. Afterward he played very good dance music. What I liked was the fact that he mixed it up. He played several types of music (rock, hip-hop, spanish, disco). I also liked the way he faded one song into the next so there were no gaps in the music. Finally he let us use his cordless microphone so we could do our raffle. Thank you DJ Mike Gonzo for making our Christmas Party a fun time!!!

I was kind of disappointed with Mike. He didn't "feel" the public and was playing wrong melodies or same melodies twice, I was constantly telling him what to play and when. The announcements were not clear and public was not paying attention to them. He was not energetic and entertaining and wasn't able to hold public attention. I, a bride, left with a feeling that I did a half work as a DJ, and it wasn't pleasant since I wanted to enjoy my wedding and not thinking about music.

I have nothing but good things to say about DJ Mike. He was very professional, witty, and has great timing. Our wedding turned out awesome, a lot of which is due to DJ Mike and his wife. He was great! Very accommodating, reassuring, and easy to work with. When he set up, he took control, and I didn't have to worry about how well it was going. Everyone danced and karaoked and had a great time with him. I would definitely use him again as well as recommending him to friends.

Mike was exactly what I ordered....wedding event was very scripted and he followed along quite nicely. He faded to the background but still allowed himself to be a participant in the event. Many guests had good things to say and I directed them to Mike's profile on gigmasters.com
