Birthday Party (Adult)Reviewed on February 23, 2008From Middletown, NJ

Good Time Party Music by T.O. off the Radio was very easy to work with before the event. He promptly answered all of my email questions and agreed to meet with me each time I requested a meeting. He has a great personality.

T.O. got our people dancing. But he did NOT play a majority of the music that we requested. We PAID EXTRA money for T.O. to buy music. We paid for music that was never played. NO LINE DANCES please.T.O. played a line dance. We asked to be introduced with our own names and not Mr. & Mrs. So-and-So, T.O. introduced us as "For the first time ever" He played the wrong song for our first song and we corrected him, T.O. said, into the mic,"Oh, it's going to be one of those nights." Nobody wants to hear a guy being paid $1000 say such a thing. If you want a generic DJ, then T.O. is a good choice. If you’ve ANY special requests, we recommend that you keep looking.

Gig Alert was sent on 8/10/09 for a Wedding on 9/12/09. Note 1 Contracts were signed by the Bride alone on 8/25/09, I took instructions from the Bride alone. Note 2 Groom could NOT arrange to meet from first contact until the Wedding Day to go over the details that make an event successful. Played "their music" exclusively as directed for 3.5 hours, from Pre-Ceremony thru Dinner. After Dinner, I played requests from the Guests Attending and popular dance music to entertain all. Line Dance requested by Brides Family, approved by Bride(note 1). Not enough room allowed to continue rebuttal. Tim O'B.

Private PartyReviewed on July 1, 2006From Blooming Grove, PA

He was told this was a 6-60 crowd and to play swing and rock music. He showed up with 2 dancers - something that was not discussed previously and was not at all wanted, did a good job with the kids although he made one of them cry, repeatedly was asked to play swing and rock - would play one song and then go back to disco and junk, insisted on playing line dancing songs that were specifically NOT requested. It should have been obvious that when a requested song was played everyone danced - as soon as he started into the line dancing and crap music everyone left the room. This was a very unsatisfactory performance. I could not recommend this individual to anyone.

:

Thank you for your comments. I tried to play all types of music for the diverse crowd that was there. You did not provide a play or do not play list. And I played requests. As far as the dancers go, my bid was for more than 1 person. And the comments we received as we left were very positive from other guests.

Wedding ReceptionReviewed on August 12, 2012From Lakewood, NJ

We found the DJ to be fun and respectful and in terms of his ability outstanding. However, we paid for and previously discussed having ceremony music but we walked down the isle in silence. During the cocktail hour the DJ confronted us and said something like, " I know you paid the $100 ceremony fee and I know you wanted ceremony music and picked a song out but I didn't know you really wanted me to play your ceremony music. I can give you a refund right out of my car." We were going into the reception that point and had to squash our disappointment. We were very disappointed and it diminished out overall experience of the DJ.

Chuck and Holly, I re-sent you all the emails that I received from both of you to review. No where did I find you ordering Ceremony Music. When you check you invoice, next to that line is Blank. When you sent your final payment, all I received was a check, there was no note to include ceremony music. Had there been, I would have asked for Bridesmaids and Bride's entrance, Unity Candle, and exit music. My email stating that I received your final payment was never responded to. I will not go into a "He said, She said", but your quote is very far off base. May the both of you have a happy life together, with much happiness in your future. Tim O'B. GTPM

Wedding ReceptionReviewed on May 26, 2015From East Brunswick, NJ

Tim ignored all our requests for a completely low key DJ. We had other activities at the event and told him it is okay if there was no one dancing. He left his booth and went to the empty dance floor and proceeded to dance all by himself with a microphone repeating come to the dance floor. This is the exact opposite of a low key dj. We also told him we were not doing the traditional things like a first dance, yet he called our names and told us to come to the dance floor and announced what song it was ( the most cheesy slow song ever) like it was our first dance. He called to come see the cake cut and we did not have a cake to cut. Overall very upsetting.

:

In the meetings we had(you would not meet with me) or the emails exchanged(you sent 4) there was no mention of "told him it is okay if there was no one dancing". You asked for No Intros, No Line Dances. I did neither as you asked. You did not communicate about there being "Cupcakes". You Bridesmaids Christine & Erin came to my booth and chose "more modern music". I played requests from your guests. I received an applause and compliments from your guests and the Catering Hall. When you review your pictures, see yourself on the dance floor with your guests most of the night having a "Good Time". Much Good Health & Happiness in Your Future Together.

Sweet 16 PartyReviewed on September 11, 2021From Hazlet, NJ

Although the dj got on the floor to encouraged people to dance and he was very nice, a lot the songs he played were not typical party songs. He doesn’t use digital equipment, he uses cd’s, so there was a delay in switching songs at times, and disks were skipping. My daughter made a mistake and read one person out of sequence for her candle lighting ceremony and he had a very difficult time trying to catch up, which resulted in a couple songs not getting played. If the equipment was digital it may have been a lot easier to recover.
