Sweet 16 PartyReviewed on October 25, 2010From Elgin, IL

I was very impressed at first with Tic Toc.Our DJ called right away and we got everything all set. This was for my daughter's sweet 16 party and the dj said that he had done plenty of them.Unfortunately he got sick about two days before the event.I was notified right away but that is when things fell apart. The new dj was not informed by the old dj as to what to wear, what kind of music we wanted, etc.The new dj said that he had only done one Sweet 16 party and that was over 10 years ago!The dj showed up at our house only 30 minutes before the event and was still getting set up whenguests arrived. He played good music but I was not impressed with the overall experience.

Graduation PartyReviewed on August 10, 2010From Spring Grove, IL

My dj didnt have many of the common song i requested and didnt play many of the songs from my playlist. Also he didnt really intereact with the crowd.

:

Hi Bridget! We understand you wanted more songs from your playlist, and more interaction. However, since you are only 17, once we arrived at your home, your parents were in charge. Your mom asked for many of the "older" songs we played, so we ended up musically catering to the older family guests upon her request, though we did try to play some of your songs also. We enjoy playing for youthful events and, when given the direction to play for the young crowd, we usually get people fired up. We do hope you had some degree of fun here, and wish you well in college and beyond! -Greg C., TTE, Inc.

Halloween PartyReviewed on November 1, 2009From Chicago, IL

Requested only (2) specific songs - he brought only one since he brought the wrong one - "Just in Time" is NOT the same as "Time After Time". Said he was going to call me about it, but didn't. This was an important song for me and was a VERY disappointing way to have the evening end. Equipment seemed to not work at times -too many silent "lulls". Originally requested he help with costume contest - he never asked about it or offer to do anything extra. Also did not seem overly receptive or friendly regarding song requests. I did give him a tip, but in retrospect, probably shouldn't have...

FundraiserReviewed on April 26, 2010From Dwight, IL

TIC TOC did not show. There was a swtich or something, it was never made clear. R.L., a different DJ and who was a choice that we declined came. Did gigmasters do that, TIC TOC? R L was very nice but he was . :15 late starting because of an accident on route 80, which we understand. But, he said he was an out there DJ and engaging; yet, he only spoke to the crowd minimally...less than 5 times was there direct encouragement. He did not read the crowd well. Two, three or four slow songs in a row is not good for the age group...usually not unless specifically requested. We were very disappointed in the sound. The lights were good.

WeddingReviewed on June 2, 2009From Wauconda, IL

They ruined our wedding reception! We booked w/Tic Toc Entertainment for our wedding on 5/30/09 & ended up with Art Dominguez & two other guys linked with this company at the last minute. They played more songs NOT on our song list than on it. The bride & grooms special dance was played early in the day B4 we we were even ready They had a shady looking character MCing the event who should keep his day job I'd NEVER recommend them. It was 1 of the most important days in our lives and that is who we got stuck with. Glad we didn't tip them either. I wish I had my cousin DJ the event and saved $600 bucks

Birthday Party (Adult)Reviewed on June 25, 2011From Wauconda, IL

I was extremely disappointed and embarrassed by the karaoke sent to our event. Though the DJ was very nice, his karaoke song selection was terribly limited. The song packet he gave to us to choose from felt like 5 pages worth and he didn't even have the birthday boys requests which I had discussed prior to the event. The sound was beyond awful. The speakers sounded like they were blown. No one wanted to participate because the karaoke was so bad. I felt it was a complete waste of money. He DJ'd some music which got a few people dancing but for that, I could have just brought my ipod. I am very disappointed and would absolutely not recommend Tic Toc Entertainment.

Wedding ReceptionReviewed on August 11, 2012From Evanston, IL

Our event had a weather issue and all other vendors besides the DJ handled it with professionalism and efficiency. our evening turned out to be awesome, but we had to pull it off without a DJ. The owner of this company seems pretty solid, but I would certainly be sure that you had 100 percent confidence in lines with the owner during the event if you in into issues. The DJ himself was utterly unprepared, could not handle anything but a perfect environment and unable to change with variable conditions. It was tough.....

:

The "weather issue" was a severe storm that caused cancelation of Lollapolooza and major league baseball for the day. The NWS advised people to "take shelter." Upon booking, client said they had a "weather plan." The provided canopy for the DJ, with removable fabric sides, was NOT adequate coverage, so DJ gear got soaked, while other vendors were safe in a garage. The DJ played indoors as asked, but would not return to the wet yard with wet gear to play in the wet, as that's unsafe. Then, he was told to leave, but clients family and guests threatened him, so police were called! Despite this, we refunded 50% of our fee. Better planning would have prevented this.

Rehearsal DinnerReviewed on September 4, 2012From Leaf River, IL

These guys were very kind and cool. We, however, hired them to host Karaoke and they are still working from CDs. This made song selection very slim (they didn't even have Billy Idol's "White Wedding" -this was for a wedding rehearsal), song play slow, and frustrating. In this day and age, we wouldn't have thought to ask if they were working from discs or MP3s. Also, their song books had no organization whatsoever-not even alphabetical. I wish we could recommend them because they were so great on the phone, in person and flexible considering they were willing to come out to a summer camp where our wedding was held. Perhaps their DJ (not Karaoke) services are better.
