Hello!  My name is Tom Brown and I'm the one responsible for this mess. And it really is a mess.  On a good day it's a controlled mess I suppose. 

Some time ago a musician got sick and tired of playing a melody over and over again the exact same way.  So he messed with it. Then the guy next to him messed with it. And pretty soon everybody was in on the action. 

Bach did it with his inventions and John Coltrane did it with his quarter tones.  We like to play the New Orleans style of messing around. Think Louis Armstrong, Pete Fountain, Harry Connick, The Preservation Hall Jazz Band, etc...

The guys in the band have played just about anywhere you can think of - Carnegie Hall, Preservation Hall, Lincoln Center, the orchestra hall in just about every major American city, presidential inaugurations, all 50 states, more countries than you can shake a stick at, and numerous jazz festivals.  Not only that, we've all played jam sessions, barbecues, churches, juke joints, dive bars, supermarkets, retirement homes, weddings, funerals, parades, and gigs long since forgotten.

Through some strange voodoo that I still don't really understand, we all ended up in New London, Connecticut and in January, 2018 decided to cut an album together. After listening back to the first few tracks it was obvious that this band had some sauce. 

So here we are making a run at it - sick of playing the melody the same way, and with hearts full of rhythm. And we'll keep playing until they turn the lights off, because there's not really any other choice, is there?

What do we offer?  Sky's the limit really.  As far as weddings?
- Jazz band consisting of 3, 4, 5, or 6 pieces. 
- Ceremony music - jazz, solo trumpet, vocal - anything your heart desires.  Shoot, we can even make a string quartet or harp appear if ya like.
- Cocktail hour cool jazz.
- Dinner cool jazz.
- Reception hot jazz.  Really hot jazz.  Seriously, bring the oven mitts...
- Reception DJ services.  Kicking sound system to fill any room many times over (this will be a serious sound system with hi-fi streaming - not Spotify on a $500 rig from Craigslist).  Any playlist you can dream of.  
- Announcing.
- Wireless mics available for speeches.
- Sound support for ceremony, with wireless mic(s).

Not getting married?  That's a shame, you should consider it.  But if not, we do other stuff too:
- Concerts
- Beach parties
- Backyard parties
- Funerals
- Swing dances
- Multinational arena tours (well this hasn't exactly happened yet, but we're bringing traditional New Orleans jazz back baby, and the sky's the limit!)

We hired Tom Brown 6 for our wedding and we are SO glad we did! In the planning stages, Tom was an excellent at communicating, kind and easy going. We hired him for the reception, but he ended up assisting with some music (pre-recorded) during our ceremony as well. At the reception, the whole gang was fun, friendly and so so talented. I had my heart set on wedding musical chairs, and they made it so fun for the kids (and adults!) to play. I am a fan for life and I HIGHLY recommend them! 

The Tom Brown 6 is a fantastic band. I hired them for a 20s themed party and everyone loved it. As requested, they started with softer dinner music so people can greet each other, have dinner, etc. Then they worked with some professional dancers I hired. And after dinner, they got really rocking and even let one of our friends come up and sing with them. They really brought the house down!

These guys were excellent. We had the three-piece band for a celebration of life.  Outstanding musicians and lovely people. Thanks so much for a great time.
