This group exceeded our expectations. The vocalist is wonderful and brought to mind the original artists that made these songs a hit. Cole Porter, Gershwin, Arlen, Rogers, Hart, Hammerstein and all the rest of the great music. Songs that were made popular by Glen Miller, Tommy Dorsey, Benny Goodman, Duke Ellingtion, Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong. They kept our crowd up and dancing. We look forward to using them again.

The main things that we liked ... they set up well before the event. They played exactly the kinds of music that we needed for our dance. We had a good session with them before the dance and went over all of our needs. Celebration band worked with us and exceeded our expectations. Should we hold another event like this we would consider having the band back again. They would be our first choice. Bill

Having the Different Hats Dance Orchestra perform at our event was one of the best decisions we made! They were extremely professional, courteous and nice to have around, and most importantly...the entertainment they provided was top notch. They fit into our theme perfectly, and we had numerous requests for information about them from event attendees. I could have listened to them for hours, and I hope to be able to use them again for a future event. A wonderful talent! The whole package!

The orchestra was very friendly and accomodating; however, I was disappointed that some of the group arrived ten minutes prior to the performance, we didn't have a full sound check, and in between songs did not move smoothly - a lapse of time. But, when they played the music was entertaining to our retired residents.

We are saddened by this review. No excuses for the late band members. We did start promptly on time, and they did have valid reasons, but that doesn't change the fact that they were late. However, as to the flow of the evening, please remember when booking a live band that it isn't like having a D.J. It takes time for 8 people to transition between songs. If you are unhappy during an event, please talk to us while we can fix the problem! Telling us that everything is fine, when it really isn't, will not help us to meet your expectations. We work hard to correct concerns as they happen. When communication occurs up front, problems are quickly and positively resolved.

These guys did a FANTASTIC job! Throughout the night, they were approachable and EXCEEDED all expectations. The family-run nature of this group was a nice touch as well. They OFFERED to do a dance lesson during the first break when we suggested we could do something... Different Hats is DEFINITELY a great act, and we had NUMEROUS compliments from our guests about finding them. Thank you, thank you, thank YOU!

The band sounded amazing, they learned our song and the vocalist is very talented. We were promised they would be there by 3pm to do a sound check since they were using the house sound system. Band members were still showing up at 6pm, which is when the event started giving no time to do a sound check. They blamed the fact that there were sound problems on the house. We created a list of requests which they did not play. They did not create a set list leading to up to 2 minute delays between songs with silence and no interaction with the crowd. They changed the contract terms the day of by taking 20 minute breaks every hour. All of this lead to unneeded frustration.

Band leaders are not miracle workers. The list of requests was sent the day before! The band was placed on a 6 x 30 platform, 10 feet above the floor. Confined in a straight line, communication among band members was ineffective, creating longer pauses between songs. The set list was scrapped, because many songs required visual cues and directions. It took 5 minutes just to climb down, thus making 10 minute breaks unrealistic. Interaction was difficult from 10 feet above the floor, and text messages had to be used to communicate with the band. We arrived at 3:00, as requested, but with a 7:00 start, it is unreasonable to ask the entire band to sit for 4 unpaid hours.

loved it all - had wonderful comments from our guests. The size of the crowd diminished the sound initially, but the added speakers made an enormous difference and created exactly the atmosphere we were hoping for.

Wow! Liz has an incredible voice, and is even better live than on the samples- if that is possible! Every note she sang was perfect. The guests loved her; she is adorable and has wonderful stage presence. Ron's playing was fabulous. He worked with us before the event to select the perfect music, even when we kept making last minute changes. He and his wife (who manages the details while he plays) made the evening flow so well. During one of the breaks, we asked her to do a dance lesson for the guests, and it was a huge success! They are such nice people, so accommodating and professional. They really cared about making our evening perfect. I highly recommend them!

They were fantastic! They absolutly MADE my wedding reception. Many of the older guests who would have otherwise left early stayed just to hear the band. My new in-laws raved! My guests are still telling me how much they loved my band. They were the best addition to our reception. They played everything I asked them too, their rates are very reasonable, and their sound was superior to any I've heard before. The female vocalist is extremely talented, and she lacked all of the "country/western" influence every other similar band and vocalist seemed to exhibit. Peggy Lee and Ella Fitzgerald would be very proud to hear her singing their songs. They were perfect!
