We hired Big Lucky for our son’s bar mitzvah and we couldn’t happier with our experience. Paul and Valerie were very responsive to all of our questions and accommodating to the specifics of our venue and our song requests (and they even learned a new song for us). Valerie also coordinated with our party planner for the kids’ activities. Their beautiful and skillful playing made our party as joyful as we had hoped. We would certainly hire them again if we had the occasion!

Our time line was totally blown, but Big Lucky was so accomodating to every request during the evening to help us pull off this event. They were amazingly talented, intertaining and a joy to have at our event. We would recommend them highly.

Exceptionally talented and entertaining. Their videos sold me, but they are even better in person. At the event, many guests asked me how I found this band. If life gets any better than these guys, you have probably died and made it to heaven...in which case, you can't hire these guys anyhow. Seriously, all other bands that I looked at did not come close. Once I stared working with this band, I ran out of time to pick the songs myself, so I had the band pick out the songs instead. They ended up blowing everyone's socks off at the event, so I was pleased to have given them that leadership. But, I am sure they would pull off any of their songs just as beautifully.

Big Lucky definitely made our Wedding Celebration memorable!
Since we heard the demos on this website, we knew we weren't wrong. Big Lucky is indeed big, putting on an excellent show, and getting all the guests to the dance floor. If you are looking for a band to play at your wedding, this is definitely IT! They have a wide selection of songs, and they are super flexible.
Valerie and Paul were also great; they listened to us, answered our questions, and they played so beautifully the waltz we requested!
Big Lucky is a set of very talented and professional musicians who can make the best at any celebration.

it is taking a big chance to book a band that you have heard a few songs, maybe had a few phone calls, but never really know if they will match the level of talent and more importantly the theme of you special evening. the Big Lucky band, far exceeded my expectations in their capability of being that vintage sound that made my wedding magical. the band members were classy, accomplished, accommodating, and did a fantastic performance! thank you so much!

We really enjoyed their music and the lead singer, Val was so helpful that she could of been our wedding planner! The band totally set the whole mood of the wedding and couldn't even imagine what our wedding would of been like if it wasn't for them. All of the guests at the end could not stop commenting on how awesome the band was and they all had a blast! Not to mention, they fit perfectly to the venue. Big Lucky was awesome! Paul and Valerie were very easy to work with and so helpful in planning and executing my wedding day, ceremony and reception. True professionals in every way. The band sounded fantastic and Valerie on lead vocals and MC'ing duties was perfection. She and the band took instinctive cues from my guests, as only experienced musicians could, that made the night flow seamlessly. Rave reviews from my guests as well. By far the best decision in my wedding planning that I made.

Fantastic band - my friends are still talking about it. Wished we had a bigger dance area and that I was able to spend more time listening to them but I got a private solo of 'Volare' by Jimmy Gimmelli after the party and it was wonderful. I'll try and book them for next year's Christmas Party (this year's theme was Christmas in Tuscany and they did a wonderful job). I HIGHLY recommend them.

Big Lucky is a very talented band. However, I cannot say that I was satisfied with their performance at my wedding. Despite multiple discussions about the type of music I wanted to hear after dinner to get people to dance (soul/funk) and their assurances that they would/could play that type of music, they did not. Also, despite their assurances that they would get people to dance, hardly anyone danced at my wedding (only immediate family) and the night just dragged on with them playing. I actually feel that they killed my reception. I wasn't expecting modern music from them, but I was expecting that they could play the type of music they said they could play.

Paul Frederick is an excellent band leader and musician. In addition to be very talented, Paul is an honorable, reliable, dedicated professional who went out of his way to accommodate our specific and personal needs. We hired Big Lucky for a corporate event in Las Vegas. They made it a point to liven up the party and they got guests engaged in their music. They did a great job keeping the music upbeat without making it a dance party. Our guests and client raved about their energy and music selections and how much fun they were. They were on time, professional and dressed accordingly. I would use them again for any event and would recommend them to anyone looking for a talented band, with great versatility in music selections.

Paul's band, Big Lucky, and the singer Valerie specifically, were great to work with. Valerie is also excellent at emceeing the evening. They played our wedding and they sounded amazing. Lots of compliments from the guests. Big Lucky was attentive to our special requests both with conference calls planning the evening before and throughout the reception. Hire them, you won't be disappointed!

We are so pleased to have hired Big Lucky for our backyard wedding reception. They were very professional and attractive. Had emails back and forth and then they called us a few days before the wedding to finalize arrangements. Really happy with their choices of music as this was a very informal , not traditional wedding. We did not want regular wedding/BarMitzvah music. They had to work around the weather as it was unseasonable chilly for late April in Redondo Beach and we had limited heaters. We had numerous compliments for Big Lucky from our guests and we danced the night away.
