Tucked away off a side street in Chicago IL, The Parlor Grand Speakeasy is a sophisticated cocktail bar and restaurant. Owner and head chef Jacob Bickelhaupt has created an authentic hideaway that is suitable for private parties. This unique space celebrates the vintage glamour of 1920s Chicago while also exuding modern style and elegance.
A narrow lane lined with string lights and faux garden walls leads to the venue’s semi-hidden entrance. An outdoor light signifies when there is space open inside to visitors. Inside, neutral-colored, curved walls create a contemporary yet timeless vibe. The marble-top bar, lined with wood, offers a comfortable place to sit with its leather high stools. Large pendant lights of sunset-yellow that hang overhead set an inviting atmosphere. Visitors can mingle and socialize in the cozy booths, with their luxurious velvet seating and low tables.
This space can host between 25 and 50 guests. Its homage to glamorous speakeasies extends to the lounge’s selection of upscale wines, carefully crafted cocktails, and rich bourbons. The ever-evolving wines are chosen with care and the cocktails, on the daily hand-written menu, are created from scratch.
Alongside a seasoned team, chef Jacob customizes food and beverage menus to reflect the needs of his clients. The kitchen staff uses fresh and seasonal produce to produce flavorful dishes that are presented like edible works of art. The culinary style fuses of international influences, from France and Italy to Asia and America.
