Cruise Ship EventReviewed on September 26, 2018From Milwaukee, WI

CJ was on our boat cruise that was 2.5 hours long and played the whole time. He was great! Volume level was great, played music that I requested on gig masters. Was very pleased.

Memorial ServiceReviewed on September 18, 2016From Chicago, IL

CJ was very cordial and timely in our communications. He traveled from Milwaukee to Chicago for my mother's rite of interment at the graveside. He was on time, and extremely accommodating. He was only supposed to play one song at the end of the service. The plan was for us to walk over to the graveside from the chapel, but because there was a rumor going around amongst the mourners that the graveside was very far away. CJ stepped in and played while those "brave" people (it was only 11 minutes walk!) processed to the graveside. He played again on the march back. It was perfect and helped all of us. He played during the luncheon and it made the day so much better.

FestivalReviewed on November 3, 2014From Kohler, WI

CJ was an excellent add to our food and wine event. He went above and beyond my request. He has an excellent range of music. I would recommend CJ for your next event.

Grand OpeningReviewed on January 7, 2013From Freeport, IL

Arrived late (may have been weather related). Only sang two songs of those we requested months ahead of time, and he did not know the lyrics of those very well. Spoke too fast in his comments between numbers--audience could not understand him at all.

:

WI & IL hazardous winter road delay, started performance w/in 15 minutes of scheduled time. Delay warning provided. Lyric sheets/songlist prepared for event. The theme changed from a Woody Guthrie tribute to "Journey Stories". "City Of New Orleans" Arlo Guthrie to Woody Guthrie "This Land Is Your Land" w/ several sub-themes of travel songs "Ramblin Man"(Allman Bros.), songs of life/raising children "Cats In The Cradle"(Harry Chapin") to John Denver's "Country Roads" & "Will The Circle Be Unbroken" a backporch bluegrass funeral/spiritual. No specific songs requested by sponsor for event. 1-5 ratings don't match live audience's applause/positive feedback. CJ

Birthday Party (Adult)Reviewed on June 23, 2019From Minnetonka, MN

To cancel day of large soirée demonstrates lack of professionalism and seriousness on the part of Coventry Jones. When I called to confirm his text and ask the reasoning for such a rash cancelation, he stated, he had overslept. This explanation for canceling is inexcusable and left us in a predicament, no entertainment and the experience caused duly stress on an already busy event. Furthermore, I would recommend C.J. be dismissed from Gigmasters. With the plethora of talented serious musicians, whom are responsible artists looking to fulfill hired commitment, further career opportunity, sustain livelihood, why bother with flaky mediocre wannabes

Corporate FunctionReviewed on December 16, 2025From Madison, WI

I was not impressed with his talent, professionalism and timeliness. He arrived late.

:

Audience expressed appreciation for performance. Late start warning was provided & OK/ed before event time & was caused by unexpected construction traffic delay Milwaukee Highway 894 West towards Madison. 3 extra sets (drum sticks) purchased for future events. Requested contracts provided in timely manner.
