Welcome to the profile page for the Southern Frey band! This is band leader, vocalist & guitarist Kohl Aldjo and I'm very excited to have you listen to our music and consider us for your upcoming event. We're musicians who love playing great classics and new songs with a classic sound. So if that's something you'd like to hear, check us out! The genres we cover are Southern Rock, Texas Blues, and Classic Country. If you look at our song list you'll see that while we play covers, we are NOT one of the dozen or more tribute bands that only play music by one artist. Nor do we only play music from a particular decade! Jonathon, our former drummer (RIP), would roll over in his grave if we weren't doing music by his two favorite artist; Johnny Cash and the Foo Fighters! So our music ends up being a very cool mix of great songs that would be perfect for a Car Show, Bike Run, Chili Cook Off, Brewpub, Pig Roast, Dive Bar, Tailgate Party, or back yard BBQ. A friend of mine even pointed out that rather than wedding receptions our music would be perfect if you're throwing yourself a Divorce Party! - ( Now we're talkin'…!! ) We have a few originals we're working on and an album is in the pipeline so at some point festivals and concerts are something we'll be shooting for. **We have our own PA system that's able to cover any size venue or outdoor situation. Plus, we have a small lighting system if you need us to provide that as well. We're also able to be very volume sensitive if your event needs to be concerned about that. [ The story about Jonathon's short but incredible life is that at the young age of 20, Jonathon, always the adventurer, traveled to New Zealand to go whale riding and, due to a tragic accident, his life was cut way too short. But, amazingly, we were able to capture his performances and keep him with us and playing together wherever we go! May his spirit forever endure whether it's riding whales or pounding on the drums! ] *Also, huge shout-out to Dan Scholtz, the artist behind the Cowboy Ghost Rider painting. Thank You!
