It was a pleasure to host Emi at our club. They were a pleasure to deal with.

Thank goodness we called them to confirm everything 5 days ahead. They had forgotten about our event. They WERE able to get us another band member (increasing us to two players) with very little notice and on a holiday weekend, but we certainly paid for it. They took three half hour breaks (a little excessive in just a four hour window) and wanted their CASH payment before the event was even over (during another one of their breaks). We would definitely like to have a steel drum band come play our events again - it lent such a fun and festive feel to a summer poolside party. However, we will not be going with this group again.

Island Sole is manipulating the Gig Masters service. They simply took the event, booked a band from NYC that was not as promised. There was a dispute at the end of the performance over the fee. Update: 8/29 I spoke to the folks at Island Sole and they worked hard to understand my concerns and to address them. The band was at the location in plenty of time. They adjusted their playing time at our request. While there was some confusion over the fee, I was able to show the band the contract and reach a resolution.

An island Sol Band member played this event..The client was rude and didnt pay us for the event.. Apparently the wealthy think they can get away with first asking to play for next to free and then not paying for a service,

Anniversary PartyReviewed on August 14, 2017From Miller Place, NY

Totally disappointed!!! We thought Willy was coming and got two people had no clue what he was singing or playing sound like same tune over and over again that my guests were even commenting same thing to me. we told them we want songs from bob Marley there was none. at the end they said I owed them $70 more I had to leave my party show them the texts and my contract. totally uncalled for I should of never even paid them what I owed. They were horrible never use again wasted my money. Willy did not show. I want my money back I did not hire these two that showed up. So disgusted!!!

:

Nicole hired Island Sol. Island Sol is comprised of 7-10 members . Emi and Phil are part of Island Sol. We sent her a 2 piece band , instead of just 1. She apparently did not like their song selection, however that is no excuse for trying to underpay the band or not pay at all. Quite often we find clients are over demanding for the little budget they have. Be happy .Dont worry the band was there an played as best they could.

Client had us in the scorching sun for 3 hours then asked for us to stay another 1,5 hours. We said ok for the OT. No food or drink was ever offered. Quote rude people actually. Went to office to et paid and they started haggling over the OT pay.. I had to accept $500 when the bill was $650 for OT.. Incredible disrespect and indecency. Never again! Musicians are not your servants.

Private PartyReviewed on August 7, 2018From Westhampton Beach, NY

I was very clear that this event was on the beach. I was assured this was ok and they could play acoustically. When they arrived the person with whom I was corresponding was not there and the person who showed up said that if we could not provide electricity he could not play. We ran to the hardware store and got there right before they closed. We got an extension cord and the band played not on the beach but halfway to the beach. It didn’t have the effect I was hoping for. When I called the booking agent he said it wasn’t his fault and the band wasn’t being truthful because they could have played acoustic on the beach. My day was ruined by the stress and apathy.

:

Client did not supply electric or a generator Nor did she tell us that the event is on the beach Normally we have a different set up and the rate would have been $2500 I cLkef the client and explained why we don’t bring power to an event and that its the clients responsibility to have power supply , ample tent coverage and a platform so as not to be in the sand Apparently she denies this conversation and yet after offering a free solo steeldrum performance for her next event , that want good enough to leasve a nasty review that’s filled with lies I rescind my offer

Church ServiceReviewed on December 17, 2018From Bronx, NY

I was extremely disappointed with the band. NOT impressive. I was told that one of the band members was a vocalist, however, when they showed up I was told they do not sing. None of the songs from the list I provided was played. I had requested some reggae upbeat Christmas carols, not even one was played. (Thanks God, we had in-house music. The event was formal and members of the band were not appropriately dressed. The event was on Saturday, on Monday I called to voice my concerns but got a recording that the number was no longer a working number. I would NEVER use them again.

:

Cynthia was not honest in that She did not state this was a big function She listed it as a church event I did advise my bug band for certain sized events She had a very limited budget We finally agreed after her haggling for the best price for a 2 pc band When we showed up on time she was expecting 3 pc I showed her the gigmasters agreement that showed 2 pc It also stated balance was due in cash At the end of the 5 hour event she only had a check she wrote out for $400 She owed us $500 So lesson is so called Christian folk are really thieves Sycophants Liars and outright nasty

Club EventReviewed on September 23, 2019From Stamford, CT

Our overall experience was subpar. We requested 3 performers and were quoted and paid for those 3 performers. The day of the event only 2 performers showed up. The band played exclusively over a backtrack when we were told we would receive 3 instruments and vocals. After emailing the band manager with our concerns he continued to follow up several times with different excuses as to why we did not receive what we expected. It was very unprofessional to misquote us and only offer a discount for the next booking. We will not be booking this band again and feel that it was not our problem that they misquoted us when we expected and paid for a service we did not receive.

:

Hello Typically 2-3 piece bands we do use back tracks Only when we have a full band of 5-7 pc is it completely live In addition I did reach out to Alex and seek a resolution They took issue with offering food for the band even after they offered food Seems someone is having a memory recall issue perhaps it mr Scrooge
