Corporate FunctionReviewed on May 13, 2019From Anaheim, CA

Doyle and the band were awesome! They added the perfect touch to our big corporate event. I received many compliments about both their music and their presence. They were easy to work with and very accommodating. I highly recommend them to anyone seeking that smooth, tropical sound. They played both contemporary and old tunes, did vocals and instrumentals. They really excelled in reading their audience and giving them exactly what they needed at each stage of the evening. I would hire them again in a heartbeat!

Retirement PartyReviewed on July 29, 2018From Mission Viejo, CA

Excellent performance enjoyed by all guests. He went up and beyond expectations of the group. The guest of honor was very encouraged by the talent and energy that was brought to the venue I highly recommend this musician.

EventReviewed on August 18, 2014From Glendale, CA

There was a miscommunication with the setup being outdoors and start time but they were willing to work with us. The music was nice - but a little too mellow at times and there were long pauses in between songs without any audience engagement as if they had not prepared a playlist in advance.

:

Steel Drums lose tuning in sunlight and the stage was not shaded. The entertainers of both bands had to setup and perform in the sun. This changed our performance time to protect the steel drums from loss of tuning. The song list that we arrived with had to be ditch, due to being place in the middle of a pop-rock band due to steel drum/ sun issues, rather than the opening band, as a steel drum duo, so yes, some of the pauses were not as brief as we would of liked. The sound system provided by the other band didn't meet our requirements, and worse, the sound man, decided to eat rather than adjust the poor sound quality, to accommodate a duo rather than a pop ro

Wedding ReceptionReviewed on September 11, 2009From Laguna Beach, CA

Steel trio sounded great at our beach wedding! They were very accomodating with a venue that did not allow any music amplification. They were very professional and easy to work with.

Birthday Party (Adult)Reviewed on September 20, 2008From Pomona, CA

Everything went extremely well. Doyle's music was entertaining but didn't dominate the party. People were able to socialize and enjoy the music simultaneously. From his early arrival to his personal attention to the birthday girl, he did everything right. I'd highly recommend him.

PicnicReviewed on May 11, 2008From Santa Monica, CA

Doyle was wonderful. He was here early and volunteered to stay over time as people - esp. the children - were enjoying him so much. He graciously welcomed adults and kids to "try their hand" at the steel drum and engaged people in a friendly and warm manner. I HIGHLY recommend him - a true musician and a true gentleman. What a delight!

BanquetReviewed on December 19, 2007From Santa Ana, CA

Big Yard Productions sent us an excellent steel drummer. Although he was only one person, the music had a full sound and took our party from good to great. The musician, Doyle, was very professional and easy to work with. Communication prior to the event was great. I highly recommend Big Yard Productions.

Private PartyReviewed on August 25, 2007From Ventura, CA

Our party was an outdoor affair with a real mix of people. To a person our family and friends all commented on how much they enjoyed the music. A wide range of vocal and steel drum songs were requested. People danced when we had no dance area. Next time we have a reason to celebrate we will ask them to return. P.S. Your services, reminders and involvement were also much appreciated. Thanks GIGMasters

Doyle and Edgar were wonderful. My guests are still talking them. There music was just what I wanted, their song mix was incredible. Big Yard Productions will be my first band for my next party.

Corporate FunctionReviewed on July 21, 2007From Fresno, CA

They were satisfactory, however I dont think they were worth what we had to pay for their service. There was alot of lag time in between each song, so it made our party lack energy. Even though we used them for more mood music during our happy hour and dinner, there just seemed to be alot of "dead air" time. The performers were very nice and courteous.

:

What is really interesting about this is a price break was given to the client for the band to drive from L.A to Fresno. The client doesn't seem to believe in win win. The stage was so small and narrow that the band couldn't communicate. 18" - 2 ft from front to back was all the band had to work with and any missteps would of resulted in the band members falling off the stage. The band had to strain to communicate on such a narrow rectangular stage. In addition the stage was so far away from the event that the band had to play at near rock volume to be heard while the guests were eating and drinking. The logistics and layout left a lot to be desired.

Birthday Party (Adult)Reviewed on June 30, 2007From Huntington Beach, CA

Big Yard Productions the group excellent every one enjoyed there musical talent and performance. The combination of the guitar and steel drum was perfect but the instrumentation was called for two steel drums. Mim (Birthday gal) did express a little dissatisfaction of the second missing steel drum. I tried to explain or better yet make up an excuse of why she didn’t get it. She knew I contracted two steel drum players. Please understand it was requested by her she wanted two steel drum players. Again the sound was great and the musicians were crowd pleasing Thank you Jerry Alonzo Notes about this gig: Gig is for a 80th Birthday party about 100 to 150 guest. I need two steel drum players to play three hours. Parking will be provided for musicians and caters only.

:

Jerry, I committed to a good strong steel drum duo. If you reread your request you will see that you requested a 2 pcs steel duo not two steel drummers. If you had two steel drummers you would not have had vocals because most steel drummers do not sing. I am glad that it work out well.

We thought Big Yard Productions was excellent. This was a college graduation party and the music was perfect for every age group. Many party-goers told us how much they enjoyed the music. The band was professional and very talented. We would hire them again. Tammy Lyman
