The New York String Ensemble provides the perfect musical touch for any occasion! 

Our musicians are the highest quality professionals in New York and we will work with you to accommodate all of your wishes to create the perfect live music. 

We offer ensembles ranging from a solo string instrument, to duo, trio, or string quartet.  Winds may also be added. 

Our repertoire is vast and is comprised of classical, popular, religious, jazz, international, Broadway and folk styles. 

We take song requests and will happily find music or arrange a few tunes for you. Past requests have included The Beatles, Coldplay, U2, and Jason Mraz quartet arrangements made popular by "The Vitamin String Quartet."

Our musicians frequently perform at Carnegie Hall and on PBS stations throughout the US and have worked all over the country with such internationally renowned artists as Tim Janis, Kanye West, Marco Antonio Solis, and the Three Mo Tenors. 

Orchestra experience includes the Hartford Symphony, Springfield Symphony, Orlando Philharmonic, and Tallahassee Symphony. 

Our leader, Amy, is also a jazz musician and performs with the band Iron City in some of New York's most prestigious jazz clubs.

I was so impressed by Amy Bateman and the musicians she works with. I really challenged them by giving them original works to play that were not in their repetoire and they rose to the occassion, playing the difficult pieces flawlessly. One of the benefits of being in New York City is having access to musicians of this caliber for your wedding. You should feel honored and lucky if you are able to book them.

Charlie and his crew did such an amazing job at our wedding! Leading up to the point, he was calm, professional and very informative on how the process works! He was able to accommodate last minute requests we asked for! They showed up on time and slipped out unnoticed! My guests enjoyed the music during the cocktail hour and while waiting for me to come down the aisle! Excellent job, SO glad we decided to go with The New York String Ensemble!!

I would definitely recommend The New York String Ensemble to anyone. Charlie Apicella, the head of the Ensemble, is very up-front, professional, and easy to worth with. Their rates are reasonable and their contract is straightforward. They are also flexible. Most importantly, their performance was phenomenal. They hit every cue and knew exactly when and how to cut off for different elements of the ceremony (in addition to processional and recessional music, we had short interludes for candle lighting during the ceremony which required the trio to find an appropriate time and manner to cease playing before the ceremony to continue.)

Charlie was the missing piece to our micro elopement wedding in prospect park. We decided to book a musician last minute and he was super accessible, professional and knew exactly what we needed. We also chatted on the phone the day before to discuss what we had in mind. Looking back I can't imaging the day without the acoustic guitar and beautiful rhythm to our special day. Thank you again Charlie! We hope to have another reason to book you in the future!

Charlie Apicella , the manager for our booking, was extremely professional and accommodating with respect to our particular wishes and needs. The string trio we hired, led by Amy Bateman-Apicella, was on time and played beautifully in the old church which was our venue for the wedding ceremony. They took care of our needs and made the it look easy and effortless so we could focus on the special day. Great choice. 

Charlie was an amazing feature at our grand opening party and the talent was loved by all who attended. I would recommend Charlie to anyone and he will definitely be a part of future events in our store. We were very pleased.

From what I heard they were excellent! Being the bride I didn't get to hear much of them for the ceremony or cocktail hour (which really breaks my heart, I was so looking forward to hearing themplay) but they were perfect for my part of the ceremony walking down the aisle. I requested Canon in D, and I wanted to make my entrance at a specific part of the song and Amy and her ensemble hit it dead on with the timing so I couldn't be happier. They were quick and easy to communicate and work with. We received nothing but compliments and would recommend them and use them again!
