This was my first party of the season and new colors made it a great one! The band members were very friendly worked well with the DJ had a high level of talent and good interaction with the audience! I’m already planning on hiring them for my Halloween party! Their sound is amazing very authentic and a good wide range of songs. I would recommend them to anyone who wanted to get people up on their feet and moving!

If you want your guests to be up on their feet and dancing all night long, this is the band for you! With an extensive mix of R+B, funk, pop, soul and Motown hits EVERYBODY from 3-90 raved about the music at my community festival at the beach! I've already had two guests ask for their contact info, for a 50th birthday party and a summer event next year. You can be sure I'll be hiring them again. You should too - you won't be disappointed!

Gene Dobbs and the Nu-Cullers were the hit of the wedding reception! So many guests came
Up to me and told me how much they enjoyed Gene and his band! He got down off the stage and walked around the tables encouraging people to get up and dance! He was on the dance floor with guests, he was extremely entertaining with the guests! He’s very interactive with the guests and bride and groom. Everyone enjoyed him! He brought a female lead singer to sing our first song,
He learned another song for us and played so many songs we requested. Jennifer Marshall was a joy to work with leading up to the event. I highly recommend hiring the Nu-Cullers!!!

Gene is a greast vocalist and entertainer. They have played at all 3 of our kids weddings. The band does a great job backing Gene up. All are talented,but the rhythm section in particular is outstanding.

Gene Dobbs and Nu-Cullers far exceeded our expectations, they were professional, easy to work with, and above all else amazingly talented musicians. The band rocked, kept people on the dance floor all night long, and made our wedding so special. All of our guests kept commenting on how good the band was, they were blown away.

Having already read great reviews for Nu-Cullers, my husband and I felt fairly confident in our decision to hire them for our wedding, but I can honestly say they blew our expectations out of the water. I'm giving them 5 stars across the board for many reasons: 1) they're damn good musicians and entertainers 2) not a single guest out of 175 people could resist dancing 3) they were super easy and professional to work with 4) I loved their music selection 5) they worked the crowd and left people wanting MORE at the end of the set (they graciously played an extra 30 min, despite their 4 hour journey home that night). I'd book them again in a heartbeat. THANK YOU!

Hired Nu-Cullers to play my fathers 70th birthday, their performance was nothing short of spectacular!! They put on a show that literally made the party. They are one of the most talented and electric bands I've seen in a long time. They were a pleasure to work with, very professional, and kept the crowd engaged. I would recommend Nu-Cullers to anyone wanting an energetic, lively, and fun party.

The Nu-Cullers stole the night away. When having a wedding, the band can kind of set the tone, at least for the dance floor. Nothing beats live music and having that big band era feel. Gene Dobbs and his crew definitely lived up to our expectations and more. Our entire wedding was on the dance floor all night. We knew they were extremely talented, but the energy they brought was contagious. With that said, they were very good at reading the audience and performing to the desires of the bride and groom. Their replication of the wedding songs was most incredible. This group can do anything; they have a professional swag which comes off smooth and cool. High praise!

The nu-cullers, led by Gene Dobbs, are much more than a wedding band. I was blown aways by the bands energy and Gene's talents as an MC. They take me back to the likes of James Brown and Little Richard in the way that they pour their hearts and souls into the performance and keep the audience dancing and singing along the whole time. I even joined the Nu-Cullers for a few songs, which was thrilling. They had taken the time to learn one of my original compositions, and found a number of ways to embellish it. When you hire the nu-cullers, you are not getting a wedding band, you are getting the real deal. Consummate professionals with exceptional talent. WOW!

I had seen the Nu-Cullers at another wedding and had been saving their card for my own wedding. We had a lot of vendors, and working with Gene was comparatively painless. On the day, they quickly set up as rain had meant they had to set up during dinner. We looked forward to them raising the energy after dinner to get things going and I couldn't believe how well they delivered. They have tremendous talent and range. We wanted a mix of Motown and modern songs made into a bit of Motown and we got a great set list that had the entire party dancing right to the end. The quality of the music was amazing - having real trumpets is just a whole other level!

Great band!!! They were willing to learn songs, tailor the setlist around a few of our favorites, and they even let me sit in on guitar for one song. Everybody at our wedding had a phenomenal time dancing. Highly recommended!!

We had seen Nu-Cullers at a wedding several years ago and knew that we had to have them at our wedding. They did not disappoint. They were easy to work with, very accomodative to all of our requests, and most importantly they rocked our wedding! Everyone was on the dance floor all night. We heard from several guests that they were the best wedding band they had ever heard. We highly recommend Nu-Cullers, they helped give us a night we will never forget.

Gene Dobbins was very professional in his dealings with our organization in advance of the event and the event was a lot of fun! The band was great-- the musicians were talented and we had a lot of fun. Gene and I discussed the type of crowd we were going to have at the party, and his song selection was right on. They also took some requests from the guests as well. Overall, I would highly recommend the Nu-Cullers!

We hired " Gene Dobbs & Nu-Cullers Band for our July 30th,2011 Class Reunion.The band presented themselves with the highest level of professionalism.We love the variety of music that the band delivered.They kept everyone on the floor dancing.They said they would give us a great evening and they did just that.I believe the rating from " 1 to 5" is an insult to this band.I would rate them a" 10" and over !!! I highly recommend this band to any function or event.They are the BEST band around.We absolutely love them. Thank you Gene Dobbs & Nu-Cullers Band. Gene Dobbs & Nu-Cullers are a top-notch, professional band. Market New Haven chose the Nu-Cullers to open up for Sister Sledge featuring Kathy Sledge for the Music on the Green Concert Series.
The energy of the band combined with the vocal stylings of Gene got the crowd up on their feet and dancing. Nu-Cullers played a variety of music and the mix was great. Funk, R&B, Soul & Pop were played at Music on the Green.
I highly recommend the Nu-Cullers for any event where you need a top-notch band to get the party started right and keep it going.

Nu Cullers played for my 21st birthday party. It was a swanky event at the St. Regis in New York City and Gene and the Nu Cullers brought the experience, class, talent, and tunes I was hoping for. I booked them very near to the actual event and they were still willing to learn two requests of mine. They were also extremely flexible in terms of what they played--initially, I wanted background music, and towards the end of the event i was hoping for some dance inducing funk, and they happily accommodated. Would absolutely recommend them.
