Here is everything you need to roll with your homies at a Clueless themed party:

A Clueless Party Theme Venue

First thing’s first, we know the Clueless squad wouldn’t settle for any location less than luxurious, so here are some venue takes that might just do the trick.

90s-Themed Club

Can you think of a better place to embrace the bright lights and pop hits of the 90s? Try finding a club that specializes in the decade’s top tracks, and you’ll instantly feel transported to the peak era of Radiohead, Snoop Dogg, Nirvana, Madonna, and other late 20th-century icons.

House Party

While Cher’s house party adventure might have turned into more of a fiasco, that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy one. Decorate the place with vibrant metallics, cool textures, and a dazzling disco ball for a final touch. Whether you’re in The Valley or further afield, you can’t go wrong with a good old-fashioned homestead soirée.

Backyard Bash

Speaking of keeping things local, even the cool kids themselves are known to revel in a backyard celebration à la Mr. Hall and Miss Geist’s wedding (spoiler alert!). Arrange tables and chairs for friends to mingle around, get your prettiest flowers front and center, and dine under blue skies and sunshine.

Brunch Spot

Brunching may not have been a trendy pastime in the 90s, but that’s Cher, Dionne, and Tai’s loss. We’re sure they’d be the first influencers to bring it to the scene today, with bottomless mimosas aplenty. If you want to delight in a luxurious afternoon with a modern twist, why not don a vintage ‘fit and head out for eggs and avocado with your squad?

Clueless Party Theme Outfits (Duh!)

Once you know your venue style, it’s time to get outfit planning! Take a trip to the mall to find your perfect ‘fit (just learn from Tai and keep clear of railings and heights). Whether you’re a fashionista or ensembly challenged, with so many styles on the shelves in the 90s, it won’t be hard to find a look that screams you

Fashionable Fads

The 90s were pretty known for bright colors all over. Think color block, pattern clash, and all-out vibrant variations. If you want something a little more subtle, you can’t go wrong with a blue denim pairing.

Sporty Sets

High school sports teams, MTV music video stars, and pop icons all donned their comfiest clothes in the 90s. Whether it was for the field or the stage didn’t matter, athleticism was in. Think wide-leg track pants, basketball shorts and jerseys, and Wimbledon-worthy tennis sets for a look that’s as comfy as it is cool.

Make it Match

The dynamic duo who began the movie were made even more iconic by their matching sets. The coordinated, preppy look was thriving during Cher and Dionne’s reign, and with the trend cycle coming back around, now seems like a perfect time to give it another go. A pleated skirt and structured blazer with a simple shirt underneath give a casually-collected finish.

Accessories

Feather boas and big hats—need we say more? Have an assortment of 90s accessories at the ready for your guests to try on, and you’re sure to make memories that take you right back. For a final flourish, order some disposable cameras for an oh-so-90s film camera photoshoot in your Clueless themed party ensembles.

Classic Clueless Inspired Food and Drinks

Clueless focuses way more on style than snacks, but there are still a few fitting bites to keep handy when hunger calls. Cher was known to burn some cookies in her time, so maybe leave the baking to the professionals. While M&Ms, licorice, and popcorn are some of the girls’ go-to treats, here are some more substantial eats and drinks to inspire your menu.

Lemon Snapple

This refreshing beverage is a movie favorite and is perfect for guests of any age. If you want to tailor it to an adult event, consider upping the ante and opting for a lemon drop cocktail. With vodka, Cointreau, lemon juice, and simple syrup, this tipple is perfect for breaking the Beverly Hills heat.

Mojitos

Tai knows that fresh goes better with Mentos, and there are a plethora of ways to add a refreshing burst of mint to your menu. Leave the packet of mints aside for this one, and get your muddler out to make fresh mojitos. This is something everyone can get involved in, so prepare yourself and your ingredients for a cooling cocktail competition.

Sandwich Bar

Take a page out of Josh’s book and set up a sandwich bar where guests can create their own delicatessen delicacies. While his favs, including turkey and mayo, of course, are staples on this menu, try adding fun extras. From meats to veggies to condiments, this is an easy way to make sure everyone can enjoy their favorite flavors.

Cafeteria Classics

While much of the movie has a lavish feel, the Bronson Alcott High School cafeteria probably stocks the same snacks we all remember from our high school days. Mac n’ Cheese, rectangular pizza, tater tots, and the usual bites are some old faithful choices that can make you feel like you’re back in the cafeteria.

Whether you were a cool kid's table regular in high school or spent your lunches in solitude, there’ll be a seat with your name on it at this Clueless themed party.

Clueless Themed Party Ideas

Your besties better get ready for the day of fun ahead. While the main character’s preferred activities were based around shopping and boys, you and your friends will be the main characters of this Clueless themed party, and there’s an activity to suit everyone!

DJ

Leave the playlist to the professionals and hire a DJ to entertain you and your besties for the evening. Whether your moves have gotten better or worse over the last three decades, you can hit the dance floor and get down to your favorite childhood hits.

Mobile Bar

We’ve mentioned cocktail making above, but let’s be honest, is it really Cher’s style to get her hands dirty? Hiring a mobile bar and a master mixologist means you can have your glass kept full of your favorite beverage all night long.

Go-Kart Racing

Now’s your chance to be like Dionne and hit the road at high speeds… but safely. Book a slot at a go-kart track and burn some rubber. Lucky for you, there’s no driving test at the end of this one, so buckle up and blast the radio while you race around with your BFFs.

Dancercise

If a day of driving is a little too much adrenaline for your liking, try Cher and Tai’s fav dancercise workout. Dig out that old lycra we know you’ve been hiding somewhere in the back of your closet, or splash out on some new vibrant pieces.

With your sweatband in place, you can grow buns of steel while you follow along with an online video.

Tennis

The sporty members of your squad might steal the show in this one, but once your face stays clear of flying balls, that’s all that really matters. Whether you book a lesson or hit the court unassisted, this is a sure-fire way to make memories and break a sweat before your feast.

Dance Instructor

If you are a little worried about your dancing skills, bringing a dance instructor along can be a great way to brush up and make memories simultaneously. Dust off your dancing shoes and break out The Cabbage Patch, The Running Man, and The Roger Rabbit if you really want to embarrass… we mean impress… your pals. Don’t forget to limber up first, these moves might not come as easy as you remember!

Glam Squad

Hairstylists, makeup artists, nail techs… the list of beauty pros you can hire for your event goes on. They can elevate not only your day, but also your look, pampering you and helping you feel fabulous. Given that the plot of the movie is based around the ultimate makeover, did you really think we wouldn’t mention it as inspo for a Clueless themed party? As if!
