Winter has come and gone, the long night ended with a bright sunrise, and we’re down to the final episode of Game of Thrones. It took eight years and 73 episodes, and the world is now left with a deeply rooted sense of distrust toward anyone who doesn’t hail from The North and a suspicion that the proverbial bus or Red Wedding could be around any corner. However, we’re also left with an infinite amount of meme content so it balances out in the end.
If you’re planning to have a watch party to enjoy every possible second of the series finale, there’s a few things you’ll need. Set the scene with low lighting and supplement with candles, and have some chamber music at the ready for background ambience. If you really want to go above and beyond, impress your guests with a live harpist or cellist. Food can be as casual as a grazing table, filled with cheese, cured meats and dried fruits, or a more elaborate catered spread.
Lastly, don’t forget the cocktails. Get creative here, a good signature cocktail is an opportunity to have fun and tie in your theme. For something as dramatic as the Game of Thrones finale, we have a couple suggestions for you.
Courtesy of the ever-crafty mixology team at Fine & Rare, we’re sharing two GoT-inspired signature cocktail recipes to enjoy while taking in every second of the final episode.
Directions: Shake all ingredients with ice, except the pomegranate juice. Strain mixture into a glass without ice. Sink pomegranate juice.
Directions: Combine all ingredients (except Angostura bitters) with ice and shake. Strain mixture over ice. Top with Angostura bitters float.
