The number of musicians needed/hired, length of performance, traveling distance and costs, sound equipment needs, and special accommodations all play a role. We try to be fair, normally charging a simple flat fee for all events which are in short driving distance (under 2 hours), and require a 1-3 hour performance slot... we are flexible with performance times as needed for events. Our press kit here with "The Bash" only allows limited samples. Once you've fully previewed our music at our band's site we'll be glad to finalize and secure the booking through The Bash booking service. We have multiple booking agents. Please use our contact info listed at our site if you have direct needs or questions you'd like answered before proceeding with booking your event. Performing in most 20th century American genres, the Knuckle Dusters incorporate Old Time Fiddle/Bluegrass, Rockabilly, Blues, Texas Swing, Acoustic Rock & Roll, Classic Country, Ragtime, Celtic, and Folk music into their sets. They will customize their performance for your event. Their schedule often includes festivals, dinner theaters, performing arts centers, museums, hotels, weddings, square dances, taverns, civil-war re-enactments, and an otherwise diverse range of private and public events. The combo has featured Scott Spearly (guitar, vocals, harmonica), Paul Mackrell (banjo, guitar, vocals), Richard Pryor (mandolin, banjo, fiddle), Robbie Caruthers (fiddle) and Matthew Spearly (upright bass). The Knuckle Dusters have been featured in Jazziz magazine and several other online and print newspapers/publications. The group has recorded both live and in the studio. In 2008 the Knuckle Dusters were awarded the Rising Star award from "The Bash." The songs and videos in our press kit are just a small handful of samples... it's impossible to include them all. We know hundreds of tunes!!! Please visit our website for more complete listings by genre and style.

Community Event•Reviewed on October 4, 2021•From Ashburn, VA

Scott and crew are great to work with - professional, kind and talented. We'll happily have them back in the future!

The Knuckle Dusters:

Melissa (and Farmer Andy!) --- Thanks for including our trio lineup in such a fun family-style farm event for the Willowsford Conservancy. It was good fun entertaining kids, parents, and other festival goers. The locally sourced foods were fantastic and we appreciated the offer of libations. YES, we certainly hope to play for you again in the future! Thanks again, the Knuckle Dusters.

Private Party•Reviewed on August 29, 2020•From Purcellville, VA

The Knuckle Dusters performed for a wedding rehearsal dinner and were perfect for the setting. The setting was rural Loudon County Virginia at the Silverbrook Farm where the wedding was to take place the following day. The weather was iffy but all clear by the time the event began and the damp lush surroundings made the event even more beautiful. The trio played everything from Bluegrass to Irish melodies and sat inside the Arch where the wedding was to take place the following day. Great for photos and played until dark when the event concluded. They were very accomodating when the date had to be moved from May to August because of the Pandemic. Great group.

The Knuckle Dusters:

Dear Roche Family: Thank You! ... for including in us in such a lovely and long-awaited wedding rehearsal dinner. You and many others had to put your lives (and marriage of your daughter) on hold due to the pandemic. We are so glad we were able to attend and perform on a rescheduled date. WHAT A LOVELY AND INTIMATE WEDDING, and what a kind and beautiful family. All were gracious and mindful of covid safety measures... we felt completely comfortable and welcome throughout, and that showed in our music. Thank you for including us in the meal service. We never expect to be fed when we gig, but musicians do love food! Best regards to you, your family, and the newlyweds

They had a wonderful performance, couldn't be happier.

The Knuckle Dusters:

Thank you Ken and Fernando at the Canary Grill in Berkeley Springs WV. What a GREAT restaurant and bar, and the staff and food was incredible! We were happy to be invited for their 1st St. Paddy's Day celebration, the guests all seemed to genuinely enjoy, and we're glad to have been invited back to perform music from our Americana repertoire. We'll see you again soon at The Canary Grill!
