PicnicReviewed on October 1, 2025From Alexandria, VA

I hired the Knuckle Dusters to perform at my Parish Picnic and they turned out to be exactly what we were looking for! They put on such an amazing performance which filled the need of having quality live background music and also took requests when individuals wanted to open up the dance floor! Scott was such a pleasure to work with and a breeze to communicate with both leading up to and during the event – I would recommend them for both their amazing musicianship, good character, and professionalism in planning. We couldn't have hoped for more!

:

Wow! Thank you Maria. We were expecting a small picnic event of 150 people... not 500 or 600... that turned out to be a packed street festival... and what GREAT dancers. Clearly all of those young high schoolers had some dance training, and it was wonderful to see moms & babies and other nice folks cuttin' a rug ... two-stepping, swing dancing, Irish/Celtic and square dance styles... all of it, what an energetic bunch. As musicians we feed off of that energy and felt very good about our performance at Saint Rita's church and school. We hope to come back next year!

Private PartyReviewed on August 29, 2020From Purcellville, VA

The Knuckle Dusters performed for a wedding rehearsal dinner and were perfect for the setting. The setting was rural Loudon County Virginia at the Silverbrook Farm where the wedding was to take place the following day. The weather was iffy but all clear by the time the event began and the damp lush surroundings made the event even more beautiful. The trio played everything from Bluegrass to Irish melodies and sat inside the Arch where the wedding was to take place the following day. Great for photos and played until dark when the event concluded. They were very accomodating when the date had to be moved from May to August because of the Pandemic. Great group.

:

Dear Roche Family: Thank You! ... for including in us in such a lovely and long-awaited wedding rehearsal dinner. You and many others had to put your lives (and marriage of your daughter) on hold due to the pandemic. We are so glad we were able to attend and perform on a rescheduled date. WHAT A LOVELY AND INTIMATE WEDDING, and what a kind and beautiful family. All were gracious and mindful of covid safety measures... we felt completely comfortable and welcome throughout, and that showed in our music. Thank you for including us in the meal service. We never expect to be fed when we gig, but musicians do love food! Best regards to you, your family, and the newlyweds

CelebrationReviewed on April 11, 2017From Rockville, MD

The Knuckle Duaters are a fantastic band! They started promptly on time and we're easy to coordinate plans with. They were all very good musicians who sounded first rate! Their music was perfect for our event. They're a great band I would definitely use again for future events.

:

Zac & Heather ... thanks for having us perform for Sunrise Village at Montgomery (assisted living facility). Having just played a concert the night before at The Center for the Performing Arts in Luray, Virginia --- honestly the audience at Sunrise was equally warm, enjoyable and responsive. What a great room to play in, and great folks and staff. I hope your grandfather and fellow residents thoroughly enjoyed themselves. That was really quite a gift and feat for you to coordinate all the way from South Africa. Thanks again to you and your family. Enjoy your visit stateside! Scott Spearly & The Knuckle Dusters

Showed up early, set up, started on time. Fantastic performance, wide range of songs, great group of guys. We will be asking them to perform again.

:

We are glad you and your guests enjoyed our music selections and performance for your event. Great surroundings and a pleasant audience always makes it easy to be at our best. Thanks for taking such great care of us!

Birthday Party (Adult)Reviewed on March 26, 2017From Hershey, PA

The band was perfect and fit our needs for the party. They interacted well with people at the party and could not have been happier. Thanks so much!

:

Craig and Kristen, thank you for including us in your event at The Hershey Vineyards and Brewery. What a classy room and venue, and you weren't kidding when you said there might be some dancing.... Sheesh! You guys could all cut-a-rug! And thanks for the eats and libations, we never ask for or expect such, but appreciate the kind gesture... both make for happy and well-fueled musicians, which plainly feeds into a better music experience for all. Best regards, The Knuckle Dusters.

Club EventReviewed on March 17, 2025From Hagerstown, MD

The Knuckle Dusters performance at our St Pat's celebration was a hit, i.e. even the non-Irish enjoyed their awesome performance of Celtic and Irish tunes. We had a full house and couldn't have ask for any better. Scott and the band were very professional. I look forward to working with them for possible future events.

:

Susan, thank you and The Fountain Head Country Club for including us in a GREAT Irish Pub Night. What a beautiful room to play in and gathering of kind folks to entertain. Thanks for the great planning, communication, and accomodations... and for making us feel at home. We look forward to coming back for future events!

Wedding ReceptionReviewed on March 31, 2010From Baltimore, MD

The Knuckledusters were amazing! They are professional and delightful on many levels. I would definitely hire them again. They even learned a new song just for us. AMAZING! A. Keefe

:

Thank you Patrick and Amanda. We were honored that you elected to hire us over other bands you were considering from Baltimore. We have played many, many weddings over the years but never an orthodox Jewish wedding. And learning the traditonal song HAVA NAGILA was fun for us. Your family and guests were very gracious and entertaining --- GREAT DANCERS!!! Thanks Again. Scott Spearly (The Knuckle Dusters)

CelebrationReviewed on March 17, 2025From Baltimore, MD

Our community thoroughly enjoyed the Knuckle Dusters Band and their Irish - Celtic blend of traditional music.

:

Myron (and the Colombiere Jesuit Community) ... Wow! What a nice evening, and warm/woody room in which to perform. It was a great setting and unique group of men. We have performed at all kinds of secular and religious natured gatherings/venues, across multiple denominations and faiths... and we are glad to have met some kind souls in the Jesuit community. Thanks for having us!

Wedding ReceptionReviewed on June 21, 2013From Dickerson, MD

We had a great experience with the band. The music was just what we wanted, a mix of bluegrass and Irish. They did a great job and were very professional and friendly to work with. Scott was always quick to respond and helpful with our questions along the way. We received lots of compliments on our choice of band and are glad we choose the Knuckle Dusters. They helped make our wedding fun and festive! We'd recommend them to anyone looking for a good bluegrass band.

:

Thank you, Susan, for your kind review. Thinking back on the many fine weddings for which we have performed, yours was an especially beautiful and well-planned event. We are always glad to play our part for these occasions. Thank you for including us in your ceremony, cocktail hour and dinner reception. We were also glad our music was so well received and appreciated. Your family and friends all treated us with graciousness and kindness, making us feel very relaxed and comfortable as musicians.

The Knucke Dusters were amazing ! They are very talented musicians and are very accomedating and kind people to work with. Many of our party guests want to hire them again to play another time . I would 100% recommend them !

:

Hilary --- thanks for these kind words, and for making us feel at home at your mother's 75th birthday celebration. Very nice lady and you are blessed with enthusiastic friends and neighbors. We enjoyed performing for you in such a lovely and intimate setting. While Baltimore and DC serve as our primary market, it was a beautiful day to drive down I-81 to Winchester, Va. Thanks for taking such fine care of us with food and drink. Best regards, Scott Spearly and The Knuckle Dusters.

They had a wonderful performance, couldn't be happier.

:

Thank you Ken and Fernando at the Canary Grill in Berkeley Springs WV. What a GREAT restaurant and bar, and the staff and food was incredible! We were happy to be invited for their 1st St. Paddy's Day celebration, the guests all seemed to genuinely enjoy, and we're glad to have been invited back to perform music from our Americana repertoire. We'll see you again soon at The Canary Grill!

FundraiserReviewed on October 14, 2017From Waynesboro, PA

The Knuckle Dusters answered a very last minute call to perform for a local fundraiser. While the crowd was smaller than projected, they were professional and played their hearts out. We can't wait to have them back!

:

Thank you Don, the Waynesboro Country Club, and the Redneck Outlaw charitable organization for including us in this event to raise money for kids with cancer and their families. Regardless of the last minute decision and 1st time crowd size, people were having good fun for a great cause and I'm sure the events exposure will only grow. We look forward to playing for you next year. Best regards.... The Knuckle Dusters.

Saint Patrick's Day PartyReviewed on March 29, 2016From Hamilton, VA

Just the best!!! The Knuckle Dusters played our St. Patrick's Day party, and man were they a hit!!! They are lively, entertaining musicians who clearly love to perform and engage their audiences. They tailored their playlist to fit our theme, and they created such atmosphere with their set. We felt as though we were standing in a Dublin pub. Our guests ranted and raved about their talents, skills and jocular manners. The band mixed really well with our friends and family, and everyone wanted to know where we found them. The Knuckle Dusters were an absolute pleasure to work with, and we wholeheartedly recommend them. We will definitely invite them back again.

:

Wow ... Thank you Trish and Mark for your kind review. You're blessed with a lovely family, home and good health. It was a true pleasure entertaining your friends and loved ones. As you know we're more of a Variety/Americana band, but we keep a dozen or more Irish tunes in our repertoire, and we're always adding to that for the great events we get to play on St. Patty's day each year. And thanks for the great food and libations as well... we never expect this in our contracting, but it's much appreciated and certainly helps us to play at our very best. YES, we look forward to playing for you again!!!

School AssemblyReviewed on February 22, 2010From Mercersburg, PA

Our school received a grant to host a square dance for our 8th and 9th grade students. We needed callers, dancers and live musicians. The Knuckle Dusters were able to provide all three along with the Rock & Candy dancers. They instructed and performed live music for two seperate assemblies, and got many students and teachers involved. The band was on site well before our event was scheduled, and they conducted themselves professionally from beginning to end. We would recommend The Knuckle Dusters to any school or private party looking for professional and fun entertainment. Thanks Knuckle Dusters!

FestivalReviewed on June 9, 2009From Washington, DC

The Knuckledusters were ideal for our museum fesitval. They're music sounded great at our outdoor family-friendly venue where they even dedicated a song to one of the sheep being shorn.

:

Tom, thank you so much. Performing for The Textile Museum in Washington D.C. was a great afternoon for us. Its great when historical music can compliment historical exhibits. We received many fine compliments about our performance afterward, and we truly appreciate all the efforts you made to accomodate us with comfort and sound. We hope to see you all again in the future.

School AssemblyReviewed on September 26, 2009From Owings Mills, MD

On less than 1 weeks notice, amazingly the Knuckle Dusters were able to bring together 4 musicians and two professional dancers for a 3 hour assembly at our school for dyslexic children. The band actually played 3 seperate assmeblies for our different age groups. The Rock n'Candy dancers taught our youngsters The Charleston, Circle Dancing and The Virginia Reel. All of our kids and the teachers were involved and dancing. The band was great, and very flexible. They worked well with our kids. I would recommend The Knuckle Dusters for any event needing talented and professional performers.

:

Thank you Lisa, and the Jemicy School in Baltimore, Md. for hosting us. We were glad to help. The kids did a great job of dressing up in period clothing, and learning about American music history/dancing. We hope you think of us for future school assemblies.

Labor Day PartyReviewed on September 7, 2008From Westminster, MD

The Knuckle Dusters were fantastic, as usual. They are talented musicians and I appreciated them playing on short notice for my family reunion. At my request, they incorporated some traditional gospel tunes for my older family members, and my 85 year-old uncle sat-in with them for a few tunes and played mandolin. They are a good bunch of guys. This was my 4th time hiring them, and I look forward to seeing them again in the future.

FestivalReviewed on September 28, 2007From Allentown, PA

This is the 2nd time our organization used "The Knuckle Dusters" , this time for a festival we sponsored. They were professional, and they played great Americana music. They were very courteous to attendees, and were well worth what we paid. I recommend them highly...

Anniversary PartyReviewed on January 31, 2008From Mercersburg, PA

We have hired The Knuckle Dusters for years at our establishment, before they were better known, and before they were on the web. They travel a lot, but are still hometown favorites when we can get them. They've done St. Patty's Day for us, Halloween, Christmas, Scavenger Hunts and many other promotional events. They pack the bar, draw a friendly crowd, and we just love them. Their music is unique and fun, without being overly loud. This year we are celebrating 5 years of successful new ownership with 5 nights of music. We are glad to have The Knuckle Dusters be a part. I would recommend them highly to any friend or planner.
