Holiday PartyReviewed on January 2, 2019From Boston, MA

International Strings did an outstanding job at performing in our Gillette Plant Holiday Party. They were very accommodating of our needs and performed extremely well. Every single person that joined the party were delighted on how they brought alive a beautiful selection of music, which were perfect for our event. It was a great success and everyone loved it! The band was excellent with communication prior to our wedding, they arrived promptly and played with great energy throughout our event. Our guests continuously complimented us on the music and everyone had a great time. This quartet is clearly a group of talented group of musicians who enjoy playing this type of music.

They were an excellent addition to our party. They were always prompt with email replies, and sounded better than expected. Excited to have them join us again in the future! Grateful!

They were prompt. Their talent is very strong. But they posted an advertisement board on the stage after being asked to remove it. The only issue with them.

Thank you so much, International Strings made our holiday party. Everyone loved the music and I've already been letting people know that I recommend Gigmasters for all parties. Looking forward to next year.

CelebrationReviewed on April 3, 2015From Cambridge, MA

I thought International Strings did a really nice job at our event. They provided a nice feel for our party that was classy with an international flair. They were pretty responsive to emails in advance, but I would have preferred them to come in and do a site visit beforehand/soundcheck but they preferred not to do that. It all turned out great, but it would have been nice for me to have piece of mind beforehand, so that was my only complaint.

WeddingReviewed on September 27, 2008From Portsmouth, RI

Although as the bride and groom, we didnt get a chance to hear them play, we got numerous reviews from other people saying they sounded really really good. Only reason for professionalism rating was that we didnt hear from them after our initial meet until 3 days before the weddng- even though tried to contact eariler. But they showed up on time, looked very good, and sounded great!

Wedding Cocktail HourReviewed on September 18, 2010From Boston, MA

We hired them for our cocktail hour and overall they played great and set the mood for the night. Communication with them was a bit difficult as it took two months to get a signed contract after booking and I also needed to send them the event information 3 times because they kept misplacing it. However, the music was very nice at the event.

Wedding CeremonyReviewed on September 5, 2012From East Providence, RI

As we looked for a group International String Trio (IST) was responsive and helpful. They played all of the songs requested and all sounded absolutely incredible. We paid in advance so that they would be sure to get paid on the wedding day. At 11 am on my wedding morning I got an email from Slava saying that it would not be the three members of IST who would play at my wedding but some other 3 musicians. It seems possible that this switch was made because I had paid in advance. If a last minute switch is important enough to tell the bride about, on her wedding day, call her, or tell her after. No bride wants alarming emails on her wedding day.

:

We are glad that Kirstin aknowledges that communication prior to the wedding and the performance were flawless. We prepared several songs on client's request and provided a PA system with several different mike types. Our main trio was playing at this event, as always. No "switch" of any type took place. The email that Kirstin refers to was the confirmation message that the main contact person prior to the event is the manager of the group and not one of the musicians. It was just a small misunderstanding that didn't affect excellent performance that the main trio provided on the day of the event. It was our pleasure to be part of Kirstin's wedding!

Wedding CeremonyReviewed on November 21, 2011From Stonington, CT

Good reviews of the performance, and they learned the song we requested. I was a bit frustrated, however, that immediately after booking I asked if a separate contract would be necessary and was told no. When confirming the job a week before the wedding, I was provided with a contract and a request to return it to them ASAP. In addition, they asked (again) what song we had requested for our ceremony -- after a number of emails and links to different versions on YouTube had been sent following our initial communication. In the end, all worked out, but I do feel it necessary to explain the 3.5 star ratings.

:

We are glad that the client acknowledged our flawless performance. On our side everything was executed with the highest level of professionalism. We never told the client that we do not need a separate contract. We mentioned that our Gigmasters agreement works as a contract, however we will follow up with a formal contract, which we did. We were booked for this event 10 months before the actual date. We went over some details then; and closer to the date we kindly requested the client to send us the link to the song that we were preparing to make sure that we perform it just the way he wants it, which we did. Everybody seemed very pleased on the day of the event!

WeddingReviewed on December 3, 2023From Hanover, NH

We were expecting a quartet and only a trio showed. They also nickel and dimed us and there communication style was off putting for us and the venue coordinator. They required a license to be a vendor but made us pay the 100.00. We also were told to book through the second offer so they would get more money compared to you. We are disappointed, but the 3 that showed were great.

:

We are glad that the client acknowledges that our trio was great. To respond to specific points: 1. We were contracted by the client as a trio, right from the start. In all communication and in the contract that the client agreed on only the trio was mentioned, never a quartet. 2. We were in touch with the client ever since we were booked in the summer. The first time we heard form the venue coordinator was 3 (!) days before the wedding, they made several additional requests that we had to respond to and agree on - client, venue and us. We did agree on it all and put in the contract, and all of the points of the contract were executed precisely on our end.
