Thank you for the consideration.  My name is Payam. (pronounced Pie-Yum)  I am a UCLA music department graduate with a Masters in Commercial Music from Cal State Los Angeles, and Doctoral Degree in Music Performance of guitar from Claremont Graduate University.  I am a dedicated professional artist/musician.  I am always willing to go above and beyond to help my clients create a memorable experience they will never forget.  
My selection of guitar music repertoire creates an upbeat, fun, and classy environment featuring exciting and recognizable melodies.  My repertoire has a wide range from pieces and songs for the Spanish Classical Guitar as well as classic and alternative rock, jazz and blues standards.  I makes use of the latest technology with current equipment, and an occasional backing track/beat as well as live singing.  The music selections  are meant to create a fun vibe, energetic mood, and upbeat but classy atmosphere.   

I am available for wedding ceremonies, engagement parties, weddings cocktail hour, corporate events, and fundraisers.  I currently perform at the Laguna Canyon Winery, The Ritz Carlton in Laguna Niguel, The Sherman Gardens, and the exclusive Shady Canyon Country Club in Irvine. I  donate my time and music to the MS Walk and Arthritis Walk.  Payam is liability insured for employment up to $1,000,000 and has played at over 200 concerts, weddings, and corporate events since 2006 with no problems or issues.

Suite Castellana, Fandanguillo, Arada, Danza by Fernando Moreno Torroba.
An exciting and intense Soleares, Farruca, Malaguena, Alegria's by Sophocles Papas.
Contemplative pieces by Brazilian composer Heitor Villa-Lobos. 
Traditional works like the Romanza, Canon in D, Wedding March, Greensleeves.
Folk inspired songs works like Scarborough Fair, Norwegian wood, Blackbird, from the Beatles.
Classic Rock Pieces by Pink Floyd, Wish You Were Here and Is there Anybody Out there?

 I find that my audience appreciates mixing in these lighter instrumentals and vocal tunes between the heavier classical guitar hits!  It adds a nice variety to my program and is appealing to all ages!

Amplification:  For outdoor venues I have a portable battery-operated amplifier (Roland Cube Street EX) It increases the volume just a little bit so that I can be heard while guests are talking and mingling but no so loud as to hinder conversation.
A Full-size PA System is available to cover 200 or more guests.  I guarantee you a professional, smooth, and enjoyable amplified sound. (No technical difficulties issues or annoying feedback coming from the speakers.)

Typically, I like to arrive about 30 minutes to 1 hour prior to the event to set-up, sound check, and be playing as the first guests arrive...

-Current Alumni member of the UCLA Guitar Ensemble directed by Professor Peter Yates.  
-President of the Orange County Guitar Circle at Chapman University (2015-20) 
-VIP Performer at many SoCal  events such as the "Milestone Dinner" for UCLA Chancellor Carnesale, Featured Artist for the Grand Opening of the Nanotechnology Building hosting former Governor of California Gray Davis.
-Grand Opening Ceremony for special guest Nancy Reagan as well as former Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger at the UCLA Ronald Reagan Hospital Dedication Ceremony 2001.
-Featured artist entertainment for Robert F. Kennedy Jr, Brandon Boyd (Incubus), Tom Curren (Pro Surfer) and Paul Naude (Billabong CEO, Vissla Owner) at the Waterman's Ball from 2009-2013.
-CSET Music & CBEST exams passed.

Payam played during the dinner portion of my wedding reception, held outside at my parents' backyard. He played a wonderful mix of classical guitar and acoustic rock.  I had many guests comment on how wonderful the music was, and having Payam play at the party made the event really special.
