Alex was absolutely terrific! He was communicative and responsive throughout the months leading up to the event (including changing the start time). At the event he was in place and playing when we arrived. He played beautifully for three hours (except when we asked him to stop so that we could do toasts). His musical selections were perfect and he played at the perfect volume (we could hear and enjoy the music but it did not over power conversation). I would give him 10 stars if I could!!!

We hired Alex for our wedding for cocktail hour. He was very nice and professional while we emailed back and forth and also reasonably priced! We didn't get to hear him play unfortunately because we were taking pictures the whole time but all of our guests said he was great and really set the romantic mood. Thanks Alex for helping make our wedding feel so special!

Alex is a very talented musician and his performance at our party was excellent. He showed up on time, was appropriately dressed and very courteous. The only thing is, there was a glitch in communication confirming his attendance - we weren't sure he was even showing up since he replied to a text message in answer to mine, but I never received it. He has it on his mobile, I don't on mine. Tried contacting him in every way possible for a week before the party, but there was no answer on any of the other modes of communication and no confirmation. When we thought all was lost, he showed up, so all was well but there should be a better way to confirm bookings.

First, Alex is a phenomenal musician, very fluid, very articulate on the guitar. He already knows alot of music and can improvise on just about anything. Second, he is very patient and accomodating. We came to him with the processional song roughly 48 hours before the wedding and he not only learned it but played it like he'd written it himself. He then improvised with one of the family musicians, taking time to do a mini-rehearsal and then playng backup fills and melodic lines--really added to the performance. He was willing to meet with the bride and groom prior to the wedding and is someone you can easily talk to and work with. Highly recommend him!

Alex Guillen did a fantastic job for our corporate event in San Diego! We needed a Spanish Guitarist to set the mood for our "Havana Nights" themed event and Alex did just that. He is very talented and took the time to consider what we were looking to accomplish and came up with just the right selections. His music was the perfect addition to make our event special and memorable. We couldn't have asked for better. Alex was also very easy to work with and very responsive to calls and emails. We would definitely hire Alex again.
