I hired Steve Wood with the full quartet for my wedding and man did they exceed expectations. He and his pianist did three custom arrangements for our ceremony and Steve played flute and sax accommodating the pianist - the arrangements were so good. Then they brought out the bassist and drummer for the cocktail hour and dinner - our guests loved them. Great blend of swing, big band and chill. They’re clearly into it and having a good time which helps too. Couldn’t recommend them more.
Only suggestion for improvement: you guys are almost too relaxed in the pre-planning process: I’d suggest asking clients for run of shows and timing details well before the event.

Steve Wood is the man. My wife and I booked Steve and two of his companions for our wedding, bringing his Flute and Saxophone, along with a Bass and Keyboard. Leading up to the event, he made time for several zoom calls to work out logistics and song choices, allowing us to plan out the day-of, and learn some of our requested songs - some of which he was able to make his own customized sheet music for.
During our wedding, his group was extremely flexible - making things easy for us when the weather decided to turn. They provided an enjoyable and classy vibe, and made our wedding day all the more special. Thanks guys!

The Steve Wood Quartet were incredibly professional and courteous and gave this stressed-out bride no reason to worry on our wedding day - they were on time, they knew what to do, and they're very talented musicians. They provided the perfect background music for our reception; the music was lovely, especially for the cocktail hour. We had to replace musical talent 2 weeks out for our event and discovered GigMasters which was a lifesaver in itself, and then was introduced to the Steve Wood Trio, with the ability to see reviews for all the bidding companies and choose them based on the reviews. They lived up to every high rating they received. They were the perfect musical accompaniment to our gala fundraising event, drew great praise from our guests and really served to make the evening a special one with entertainment during the reception and during dinner. The Steve Wood Trio played at our wedding reception recently, and everyone in the band was extremely courteous and helpful, not to mention amazing musicians. My husband and I had Steve Wood and his talented team play for our wedding cocktail hour and reception in June 2014. Without exaggeration, they were the hit of the wedding! We gave them a general idea of the vibe we we wanted, and they took it from there. They learned all three our "first" songs for our reception but sang them as though they had been playing them for years. They were a very memorable part of a very special day, and we couldn't recommend them any more highly!

The band was great! My wife and I got married on a cruise and had our reception of around 150 people a few months later, which the Steve Wood band agreed to play for. The band (5 pieces total) arrived early and worked with the reception hall staff to set up the equipment. The band sounded great overall, playing a mix of swing, jazz, and even some Motown and rock later in the evening. They handled a very special request very professionally: I had composed a song for my wife as a surprise and sent it to the band a month or so ahead of time. I could tell they rehearsed the ballad and vastly improved upon what I had sent them, I couldn't ask for more! A++

Excellent in every way! After hearing rave reviews we decided to go with Steve Wood's five piece ensemble. They played some wonderful jazz throughout dinner, moved to some Motown, rock and big band style swing. Talk about versatility; for our first dance we started with Our Love is Here to Stay by Sinatra and then after a couple verses switched it up to Jump Jive and Wail by Brian Setzer Orchestra. The band kept our family and friends out on the dance floor throughout the night. We highly recommend the Steve Wood band and can guarantee that you will be blown away by their talent. I would highly recommend any of the Steve Wood ensembles to anyone, for any function. Many guests at my wedding commented that it was the best reception music they had ever experienced. The music was fantastic and got all the guests out on the dance floor for the entire night. Perfect music selections, and performed flawlessly.
