Battleship IOWA Museum presents a unique event space within its Crew’s Mess room. Here, guests can experience what dining onboard one of the United States’ most historic battleships was like for crew members. For over 50 years, this vessel served its country proudly, now it provides an educational and unconventional event venue for all.
Located deep within the ship is the Crew’s Mess event space. Here, checkered tile flooring is interspersed with numerous fixed-in tables and chairs. This space was once the crew’s dining area and has retained this aesthetic. Exposed piping covers the walls and ceiling here and reminds attendees of the unique setting they find themselves in. This room is ideal for themed parties or events and can comfortably accommodate gatherings of up to 150 guests. The adjoining kitchen and serving area offer the option of cafeteria-style catering, facilitating ease of service and a unique event quirk.
Clients can choose to enhance guest experiences here by scheduling VIP tours that showcase areas of the ship that are not usually open to the public. With these tours, attendees will be granted access to such areas as the sick bay, senior officer’s spaces, engineering areas, and more. Planners can also create fun and unique gift bags from the IOWA store as keepsakes of their event held within this legendary setting.
