The Veranda space aboard the Battleship IOWA Museum in San Pedro, CA, is an open-air event space available for private hire. Moored alongside the nation’s busiest seaport, The Battleship of Presidents serves as a proud relic of its rich 50-year history. It has been graced by a total of three serving United States presidents during its time and was instrumental in many key historic events.
The Veranda is located on the upper deck of the ship and gives guests the ability to glimpse the impressive 16 guns of the ship over the railings. Known as the Commander-in-Chief’s Veranda, this space features teak decking and porthole backdrops for a unique event experience. This location also allows guests to take in views of the gently lapping sea that surrounds them. Franklin D. Roosevelt is said to have walked this deck often to take in the sea air during his time on the vessel. Now it can serve as a scenic spot for a cocktail party, wedding ceremony, corporate event, and much more.
Up to 280 attendees can enjoy mingling in the sunshine atop this Veranda location. The venue’s event professionals are happy to accommodate client requests in order to style this space in the theme of choice. They can also advise on preferred vendors that can supply event catering, live entertainment, and bar services to enhance occasions held here.
