College Reunion•Reviewed on May 27, 2014•From Herndon, VA
:
Ms. Kim hired me to play at the annual Korean ROTC reunion held at the Radisson Hotel in Chantilly, VA. At the dinner, I played a selection of Scottish Tunes, and also played a traditional Korean Folk Song which brought everyone to their feet and singing along. A lot of people gathered around to have their photos taken with me, and I went from table to table to greet all the guests. This is was a most unusual and enjoyable Gig. I would certainly do it again!Review by Tim F.

I played outside the chapel before and after the ceremony. The family was Scottish, and many had come long distances for the event. It was also the Groom's birthday, so I also played "Happy Birthday" for him after the ceremony. I wore Scottish full dress in Clan Cameron tartan.Review by Alan P.

This was a most unusual event to celebrate the group of inductees into a Fraternity house at the University of Virginia. It was sometimes quite raucous, and my piping undoubtedly inflamed some passions!Review by Amelia G.

Naomi and her brother hired me to play at a retreat in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia for her mother's engagement party. I played a selection of Scottish and Irish tunes. I wore Irish traditional full dress in Saffron Kilt, Piper's Cloak and Caubeen. The wedding was held in an Episcopal Church in Manassas, VA. I also played the Smallpipes in the church during the Processional. The chosen tune for this was "Let Erin Remember," the regimental slow march of the Irish Guards. I worked extensively before the wedding with the Bride to make sure that her big day was especially memorable.Review by Claudia H.

Kathleen hired me to play at an afternoon Reception to remember her father's memory at a club in Maryland. I played for about two hours. I was originally scheduled to play outside, but the weather was bad so I selected a corner and played the good part of my repertoire. In April 2015, Kathleen also hired me to play at her wedding at St. Casimir Catholic Church in Baltimore. This was very enjoyable, and I was happy to help out again.Review by Sara R.

:
My performance at this wedding in Frederick, MD was a complete surprise to all the guests. When the officiant introduced the Bridal Couple for the first time as "Mr. & Mrs. ...", I struck up the pipes, marched forward up the aisle, met them at the altar, and led them down the aisle and out of the church to "Highland Laddie" and "The Black Bear." I also played the Bridal Couple into the Reception to "The Campbells are Coming." The weather was perfect and the venue very impressive.Review by Bridget E.

I played outside as the guests were arriving, and then went inside to play "Highland Cathedral" with the church organist during the Processional. I also played the Bridal Couple down the aisle after the ceremony to "Scotland the Brave.". It was magnificent and the acoustics were fantastic. Obviously, a great deal of time and effort were expended in planning and executing this ceremony.Review by Katherine M.
