In a rural Wiconsico, PA, cemetery I played at the funeral of a lady whose family claimed Welsh heritage. For that reason, I played Land of My Fathers prior to the committal ceremony. A large group of family and friends gathered at the gravesite. Barbara was very easy to work with and was most appreciative.Review by Denise H.

:
Marita hired me to play at the funeral of her brother at St. Monica's R.C. Church in Sunbury, PA and at the All Saints' Cemetery in Elysburg. Her brother was an Irish- American and I wore traditional Irish attire. The roads and the grass at the cemetery were a sheet of ice which made movement very treacherous. Marita was great to work with and her family was very appreciative.Review by Susie B.

:
I played at the funeral of a Vietnam-era Army veteran at the Maryland Veteran Cemetery at Garrison Forest near Owings Mills, northwest of Baltimore. I played at the chapel during full military honors; and then played Going Home and The Flowers of the Forest after the interment at the Columbarium. I enjoyed working with the family who couldn't have been more appreciative. Despite the cold, the pipes could not have sounded better.Review by Mary-Jo D.

I was pleased to present a St. Patrick's Day Program at the Willow assisted-living community in Macungie, PA. Besides playing a selection of Irish tunes on the Great Highland Bagpipe and the Smallpipes, I spoke extensively about the pipes, my attire and piping experiences. The residents were all very appreciative and I enjoyed working with Mary-Jo.Review by Christina L.

I played at the funeral of a deceased firefighter in a small town in rural Pennsylvania. The community support was outstanding. I played in the church vestibule before the service, and then played outside under a large American flag that had been hoisted by the ladders of two fire trucks. Wedding Ceremony•Reviewed on May 2, 2022•From Ephrata, PA
:
Kelly hired me to play at the wedding of her daughter at the Bethany United Church of Christ in Ephrata, PA. It was an Irish American wedding, so I wore traditional attire in Saffron Kilt and Caubeen. I played all the Irish favorite tunes. As the Bride arrived, I played The Brown-Haired Maiden. The weather was fantastic, and I escorted the Bridal Couple down the aisle to "Let Erin Remember..." After the ceremony, I played extensively as the couple greeted all their guests outside the main entrance.Review by Michael C.

Wedding•Reviewed on July 3, 2022•From Harpers Ferry, WV
:
I played at the wedding of James and Julianne at St. Peter's R.C. Church in historic Harpers Ferry, West Virginia. The church was located on a bluff overlooking the confluence of the Potomac and Shenandoah rivers above the town. It was an idyllic setting. I played the bridal party's procession down the main street and up to the church. Perfect weather and setting. The Groom and Groomsmen were all in Highland dress, as was the Groom's father, a retired Naval aviator in mess dress jacket and Royal Stewart tartan kilt.Review by John B.
Funeral•Reviewed on May 17, 2022•From Harrisburg, PA
:
On a cold, rainy, miserable day, I played at the full-honors funeral of a deceased Firefighter at the Shoop Cemetery in Harrisburg. It got wetter by the minute, so I wore my raincape and flat cap to keep the rain out of my eyes. I played as the casket was conveyed to the grave from the fire service vehicle. Following the final prayers, I played Amazing Grace off into the distance.Review by Portia B.

I was hired once again to play during an event celebrating the 300th Anniversary of the Donegal Presbyterian Church in Mount Joy, PA. I played following the service as members of the church were exiting the building and moving to lunch at the church hall. Everyone enjoyed a meal composed of recipes of Celtic and Native American foods served during the 18th Century. After lunch, I played as people moved back into the church for the annual meeting. I played a wide selection of Scottish tunes, including some Piobaireachd (classical pipe music).Review by Steven C.

The Regimental Pipes & Drums mini-band was hired to play at a family reunion at Lake Heritage in Gettysburg. We fielded two pipers and two drummers. We were a big hit, and a number of boaters pulled their boats alongside the dock to listen to the music and the commentary. Steve and his guests were very hospitable along with the many neighbors. This was a great event!Review by Ariana R.

Graduation Party•Reviewed on May 31, 2022•From Lititz, PA
:
On this dour and dreary morning, I played at the Linden Hall College Preparatory School for Girls. The school was founded in 1746. I played before the ceremony as the 33 graduates and family and guests were gathering. At the school's request, I wore historic dress of a Black Watch piper in 1945 at one of the great Victory Parades in Northwestern Europe. The weather was rather humid, and it was great weather for the acoustics of the pipes. I played a number of period Scottish tunes and also Gaudeamus Igitur as the graduates were gathering.Review by Andrew P.
