Community EventReviewed on May 23, 2022From Camp Hill, PA

Gustav Person displays the embodiment of a professional musician. His playing as an addition to our annual event impressed all of us in attendance. We will book him again for this event next year!

:

I played at the annual dinner of the 1st Battalion, 108th Field Artillery, PA Army National Guard at the Penn Harris Convention Center in Harrisburg. During the cocktail hour, I played outside as guests were arriving. Later, during the ceremony, I played a lament after the playing of Taps. I was invited to attend upon the invitation of my son, Sergeant First Class Andrew Person. It was an honor to attend and perform at this event.

Memorial ServiceReviewed on September 7, 2022From Lewisburg, PA

:

For the third occasion, I was hired to play at the annual Memorial Service at the United State Penitentiary in Lewisburg, PA, to honor the 26 Federal Correction Officers who were killed in the line of duty since 1901. I played Amazing Grace to open the ceremony, and then played The Flowers of the Forest following the rifle volleys and TAPS. There had been heavy rain the night before, but the sun came out just before the ceremony. I wore Black Watch tartan.

FuneralReviewed on September 4, 2022From Lancaster, PA

Gus was amazing at my mother in law’s funeral service I highly recommended him to anyone

:

I played at the funeral at St. John Nauman R.C. Church in Lancaster, and the interment at the New Catholic Cemetery in Millersville. Benjamin's mother-in-law was an Irish American lady, so I played a selection of Irish tunes outside the church as mourners were arriving for the Funeral Mass. The interment was in a shaded grove at this old town cemetery where I played Amazing Grace.

FuneralReviewed on November 7, 2022From Wrightsville, PA

:

Based on a referral, I played at the funeral of a Scottish-Irish gentleman and USMC veteran at the Fairview Cemetery in Wrightsville, PA. A Marine trio provided the bugler and flag detail. The family had suggested all the tunes to be played.

Gus did a great job!

:

Kenneth hired me to play at the funeral at St. Mary's Cemetery in Wilkes-Barre, PA, for his Irish-American uncle who died after a very long life. I played outside the chapel where the interment service was held. I played Irish tunes including O' Danny Boy. Playing outside the chapel enabled me to stay warm during the service.

:

I was hired to play at the annual Memorial Service honoring deceased members of the Elks Lodge in Columbia, PA, who had died in 2022. I played Amazing Grace during the extinguishment of Candles representing the deceased members. I also played a number of tunes following the service as members were socializing.

Church ServiceReviewed on December 11, 2023From Camp Hill, PA

We are always pleased to have Gus performing at CHPC!

:

For the second year, I was engaged to play at the annual Kirkin' O' The Tartan Advent service at the Camp Hill Presbyterian Church. I played for both the Processional and Recessional. A number of people told me that they specifically attended the service to hear me play!

Church ServiceReviewed on June 19, 2023From Mount Joy, PA

We have used Gus on a number of occasions. We have always been more than satisfied with all aspects of his performances.

:

On at least three previous occasions, I have played at various services and celebrations at the Donegal Presbyterian Church in MT Joy, PA. This year, I played at the annual Heritage Sunday event. I played for an hour as parishioners were arriving, and then played Simple Gifts for the Processional. After the service, I played as guests were exiting the church, and then was invited to stay for lunch in the Social Hall. This is always a very enjoyable event, and the weather could not have been better.

Derek hired me to play at the funeral of an Irish-American Army veteran at St. Mary's R.C. Church in Hamburg, and at the St. John's Cemetery. I played as the casket was conveyed to the hearse, and at the cemetery. I played a selection of Irish tunes to open the interment ceremony.

Excellent performance and greatly appreciated

:

James hired me to play at the funeral of an Irish American gentleman at the Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Harrisburg, PA. I played a selection of Irish tunes as the casket was conveyed from the hearse to the gravesite. The grave was located on a hillside, adjacent to the memorial to the armed services.

FuneralReviewed on October 19, 2023From Mechanicsburg, PA

Gus did what I had asked plus more! He added a wonderful touch to our service. Thanks again!

:

Marlene engaged me to play at the Memorial Service for her aunt who had died at age 100. The service was conducted at the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Mechanicsburg, PA. Marlene had contacted me two years ago to play at a special birthday party but this was cancelled due to illness. Thus it was a pleasure to play at this farewell.

FuneralReviewed on October 11, 2023From Lewistown, PA

:

The funeral director engaged me to play at the funeral of a retired Army colonel and WW II and Korean War veteran. The funeral was conducted on a hill=top at the Juniata Memorial Park in Lewistown, PA. This was a full-honors funeral, and I played tunes chosen by the family.
