Gus is a fine musician and a consummate professional. He made our graduation ceremony an unforgettable experience. I can't recommend him enough.

:

Frank engaged me to play at the graduation of the Writing Program students at the Vermont College of Fine Arts at Susquehanna University. Students received their Master's degrees, and also selected all the music that I played. This was an impressive event at the Weber Chapel & Auditorium in and idyllic venue. I wore the full-dress uniform of a piper in The Black Watch.

FuneralReviewed on December 16, 2023From Bally, PA

Mr Person recently piped at my fathers funeral. Although a somber event, I wanted to make this last celebration special and memorable. Mr Person helped me do just that! I am so pleased that I found Gus! He was professional, courteous, and his piping was just perfect! Thru the Bash, details were easy to arrange. Gus responded quickly to my inquiry and invited me to contact him by phone to discuss details. I truly appreciate him offering an open line of communication and willingness to accommodate special requests. Gus’ performance was excellent! My family and I were moved. If you’re deciding on a Piper, I wouldn’t hesitate and highly recommend Gus Person!

:

Christine engaged me to play at the funeral of her father in Bally, PA. The Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church was originally founded in 1741. I played outside prior to the Funeral Mass as people were gathering, and then led the Procession across the street to the cemetery which was a long steep climb to the actual gravesite. At the conclusion of the final prayers, I played The Flowers of the Forrest. Christine was great to work with.

As always, Gus was both professional and accommodating. He went the extra mile to reach out and discuss what the family was looking for with the family. Thank you, Gus!

:

On this very dour afternoon, I played after the Mass at St. Theresa's R.C. Church in New Cumberland for the funeral of a retired US Air Force lieutenant colonel. I played in the rain as the casket was conveyed from the church to the hearse. The family had requested specific tunes to be played. The interment will occur at Arlington National Cemetery.

Gus joined our St. Andrew's Day celebrations for the third year in a row. As always, Gus is joy with which to work. I'm always impressed with his knowledge and his suggestions of repertoire that would work well with the event. If you need a pipe in Central Pennsylvania and surrounding areas get in touch with Gus Person!

:

Rev. Grant engaged me to play, for the third time, at the annual Kirkin' o' the Tartans service at the St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in East York. I played for the Processional and Recessional, and also played during Communion. I selected a number of Retreat Marches in 3/4 Time. As always, my performance was well received, and I also played a number of tunes in the social hall after the service.

Bagpiper Gus is the best!! We reconsecrated our old cemetery His playing of the pipes was so chilling! It truly added to the event. Made it ever so reverent. Jim

The Canadochly Lutheran Church engaged me to play at the re-dedication of their Old Cemetery. The church was originally founded in 1733, and there are several Revolutionary and Civil War veterans buried there. I led the procession to the cemetery after the church service. This was followed by delicious Ham and Bean Soup in the Parish Hall.

Community EventReviewed on November 12, 2023From Manheim, PA

Gus exceeded our expectations. We booked him just to play one song during the ceremony, but on his own, he played incidental music before the ceremony began. We did not think about asking him to (and should have), but he also volunteered to play ALL of the service songs in a private ceremony before the main ceremony which was an unexpected treat. I love hearing the pipes, and it is a delight listening to Gus. I know it is a challenging instrument to master, but he was pitch perfect throughout!

:

Brigadier General Schwartz, on behalf of the Memorial Committe, engaged me to play at the re-dedication of the Manheim Veterans Memorial Park. A huge crowd gathered for the ceremony. Thanks to the VFW Post 5956 for sponsoring. It was a great honor to participate on this Veterans Day.

Gus was incredible and made our wedding ceremony so special! He was so accommodating, kind, communicative and made sure everything we wanted would be included. Our guests loved the piper surprise and it made our exit from the church so magical! Would 100% recommend Gus for any and all events!

:

Patrick and Courtney hired me to play at their wedding at the Immaculate Conception Chapel on the campus of Mount St. Mary's University in Emmitsburg, MD. I played outside as guests were gathering and then escorted them down the aisle to the strains of Highland Laddie. Patrick and I had much in common since he was New Jersey National Guard Officer, and also a police officer. This was a magnificent venue in perfect weather.

Gus performed at my mother's graveside memorial service. He was responsive, punctual and genuinely interested in hearing my mother's story and meeting all of us. Gus' uniform was impeccable and his demeanor so respectful. Gus is very talented and his repertoire impressive. When I shared a video clip with our Scottish relatives, they were duly impressed with his piping! Thank you Gus for making our Mother's funeral so memorable. Bonnie Lazzeri

:

Bonnie engaged me to play at the funeral of her Scottish mother at the historic Birmingham-Lafayette Cemetery in West Chester, PA. During the hour-long interment cemetery, I played four traditional tunes and closed with "Sleep, Dearie, Sleep.: The Quaker Meeting House on the cemetery grounds was used as a hospital for wounded American and British soldiers from the nearby battle of Brandywine during the War of Independence. I wore the No. 1 Dress uniform of a piper in the Scots Guards. Fortunately, the rain held off during the service.

I played at Carl and Kyra's wedding at the Holy Trinity R.C. Church in downtown Columbia, PA. This was a magnificent church erected in 19th Century style. The Groom, all the Groomsmen, and many of the male guests were in full Highland Dress, It's always a treat to see that.

Wedding CeremonyReviewed on September 10, 2023From York, PA

Gus was fantastic! He plays beautifully, arrived to the venue early, and was easy to communicate and coordinate with throughout our wedding planning process. Gus offered us great suggestions on songs and the order they should be played in based in his expertise. His highland attire added the perfect bit of flair to our outdoor wedding. I would highly recommend working with Gus for any event.

:

Chris and Carolyn hired me to play at their outdoor wedding in Farquhar Park in York City. A great deal of planning actually went into their ceremony. I played a variety of tunes including Shenandoah, Ode to Joy and Believe Me If All Those Endearing Young Charms for their Ring-Warming. The couple actually waltzed during this portion. I wore Cameron of Erracht tartan in No. 3 Dress. It was actually pleasant to be playing in the shade of a grove of trees.

Gus Person provided an amazing touch to the conference opening ceremonies. Gus was early and coordinated with the Honor Guard detail and singer and provided his professional feedback on proper procedures for the ceremony. He also accepted a special request without issue.
