Patrick and Courtney hired me to play at their wedding at the Immaculate Conception Chapel on the campus of Mount St. Mary's University in Emmitsburg, MD. I played outside as guests were gathering and then escorted them down the aisle to the strains of Highland Laddie. Patrick and I had much in common since he was New Jersey National Guard Officer, and also a police officer. This was a magnificent venue in perfect weather.

Gus performed at my mother's graveside memorial service. He was responsive, punctual and genuinely interested in hearing my mother's story and meeting all of us. Gus' uniform was impeccable and his demeanor so respectful. Gus is very talented and his repertoire impressive. When I shared a video clip with our Scottish relatives, they were duly impressed with his piping! Thank you Gus for making our Mother's funeral so memorable.

Bonnie engaged me to play at the funeral of her Scottish mother at the historic Birmingham-Lafayette Cemetery in West Chester, PA. During the hour-long interment cemetery, I played four traditional tunes and closed with "Sleep, Dearie, Sleep.: The Quaker Meeting House on the cemetery grounds was used as a hospital for wounded American and British soldiers from the nearby battle of Brandywine during the War of Independence.
I wore the No. 1 Dress uniform of a piper in the Scots Guards. Fortunately, the rain held off during the service.

Once again, I was hired to play at the annual Blue Mass which honors first responders and law enforcement personnel. The service was held at the St. Joseph's Parish R.C. Church in East York, PA. I joined the choir and ensemble in playing Abide with Me and then Amazing Grace. This is always a very evocative occasion.

I played at Carl and Kyra's wedding at the Holy Trinity R.C. Church in downtown Columbia, PA. This was a magnificent church erected in 19th Century style. The Groom, all the Groomsmen, and many of the male guests were in full Highland Dress, It's always a treat to see that.

Chris and Carolyn hired me to play at their outdoor wedding in Farquhar Park in York City. A great deal of planning actually went into their ceremony. I played a variety of tunes including Shenandoah, Ode to Joy and Believe Me If All Those Endearing Young Charms for their Ring-Warming. The couple actually waltzed during this portion. I wore Cameron of Erracht tartan in No. 3 Dress. It was actually pleasant to be playing in the shade of a grove of trees.

I was hired to play at the annual Convocation Ceremony at the Irvine Memorial Chapel on the campus of the Mercersburg Academy in south-central Pennsylvania. This is a prestigious secondary school with students from all over the US and many foreign countries. I played for the Processional and the Recessional. The service was held at the Schuylkill Correctional Institution in Minersville. Linda hired me to play at the combination birthday and family reunion party at the home of her friend Emilie. The party was held at a private residence on the outskirts of Gettysburg. A number of the guests were living historians in period attire, so I dressed appropriately. I played a large selection of Scottish and Irish tunes and many of the guests sang along. Gus performed exactly how we had in mind for our wedding.
Leading up to the wedding he had a variety of wardrobe options and suggestions to help guide a successful performance which we leaned on.
The day if he was flexible and accommodating and provided the atmosphere we wanted. We also had him imitate the recession which he did wonderfully and it captured the signature and dramatic moment of being announced as husband and wife.
Overall his experience made things easy on us and he delivered beautifully.

Nick and Amy hired me to play at their wedding at the Mansion at Ridley Creek State Park. This was a magnificent venue. Unfortunately, the heavy rain drove everyone indoors. Nevertheless, I played under the overhead arch as guests arrived. At the conclusion of the wedding ceremony, I escorted them down the aisle to the cheers and applause of the guests. I played Highland Laddie to honor the Groom. Thereafter, I played on the balcony of the large hall as they greeted their guests.

At short notice, I was hired to play at the funeral of a Scottish-American lady at the Canadochly Lutheran Church in East York. I played outside in the shade as people were gathering, and then played Going Home as the casket was conveyed to the altar. After the service, I played at the gravesite for the final interment. A very hot day, and I dressed accordingly.

I was hired to play at the burial service for Wayne's Aunt at the Richfield Union Cemetery in rural Pennsylvania. Also being interred was the ashes of the aunt's husband who had died many years ago. Wayne picked out all the pipe music for the service which included Land of my Fathers, a famous Welsh hymn.

I was invited back to play at the annual Commencement Ceremony at the Linden Hall College Preparatory School for Girls in Lititz, PA. I also wore historic uniform of the Black Watch in white woolen shell jacket worn by the Foot Guards and Highland Regiments for Drill Order during the latter part of the 19th Century. I played as the graduates and families were gathering, and then led the Ceremonial Procession around the school to the front entrance. This was a very enjoyable event.

Hiring Gus was the best decision we made regarding our wedding music. The processional was the highlight of the ceremony and his piping is the best we’ve ever heard. He is easy to work with, accommodating, and helpful choosing songs. He played so solidly and for a long time during our prelude, procession, recession, Grand March and first waltz. I highly recommend hiring Gus for your Scottish or Irish themed wedding ceremony and dancing.

I was hired to play for the Renewal of Wedding Vows for Adrien and Rebukah at the Hilltop House in Devon, in the western suburbs of Philadelphia. It was a very strenuous event requiring a great deal of piping for the various portions of the ceremony and the aftermath. The aftermath featured a Grand March for the large group of family and guests. Too bad it was raining and thus conducting the event outdoors was out of the question, A very enjoyable Scottish event.
