Breton hired me to play at his wedding at the St. Thomas R.C. Church in Bedford in western Pennsylvania. This historic church was erected in 1868. The interior woodwork of the church was magnificent. This was an Irish-themed wedding and many of the guests, and including the Bride, were surprised and amazed by my piping. The weather made it a perfect day for a wedding.

I was hired by Mark to play at the 80th Birthday Party for his father in New Ringgold, PA. It was a residential party in the backyard. Although a very hot and humid afternoon, I played in the shade of a large tree. The celebrant's three sons came from Virginia, Florida and Oregon to celebrate the event.

Gus performed exactly how we had in mind for our wedding.
Leading up to the wedding he had a variety of wardrobe options and suggestions to help guide a successful performance which we leaned on.
The day if he was flexible and accommodating and provided the atmosphere we wanted. We also had him imitate the recession which he did wonderfully and it captured the signature and dramatic moment of being announced as husband and wife.
Overall his experience made things easy on us and he delivered beautifully.

Nick and Amy hired me to play at their wedding at the Mansion at Ridley Creek State Park. This was a magnificent venue. Unfortunately, the heavy rain drove everyone indoors. Nevertheless, I played under the overhead arch as guests arrived. At the conclusion of the wedding ceremony, I escorted them down the aisle to the cheers and applause of the guests. I played Highland Laddie to honor the Groom. Thereafter, I played on the balcony of the large hall as they greeted their guests.

At short notice, I was hired to play at the funeral of a Scottish-American lady at the Canadochly Lutheran Church in East York. I played outside in the shade as people were gathering, and then played Going Home as the casket was conveyed to the altar. After the service, I played at the gravesite for the final interment. A very hot day, and I dressed accordingly.

I was hired to play at the burial service for Wayne's Aunt at the Richfield Union Cemetery in rural Pennsylvania. Also being interred was the ashes of the aunt's husband who had died many years ago. Wayne picked out all the pipe music for the service which included Land of my Fathers, a famous Welsh hymn.

I was invited back to play at the annual Commencement Ceremony at the Linden Hall College Preparatory School for Girls in Lititz, PA. I also wore historic uniform of the Black Watch in white woolen shell jacket worn by the Foot Guards and Highland Regiments for Drill Order during the latter part of the 19th Century. I played as the graduates and families were gathering, and then led the Ceremonial Procession around the school to the front entrance. This was a very enjoyable event.

Hiring Gus was the best decision we made regarding our wedding music. The processional was the highlight of the ceremony and his piping is the best we’ve ever heard. He is easy to work with, accommodating, and helpful choosing songs. He played so solidly and for a long time during our prelude, procession, recession, Grand March and first waltz. I highly recommend hiring Gus for your Scottish or Irish themed wedding ceremony and dancing.

I was hired to play for the Renewal of Wedding Vows for Adrien and Rebukah at the Hilltop House in Devon, in the western suburbs of Philadelphia. It was a very strenuous event requiring a great deal of piping for the various portions of the ceremony and the aftermath. The aftermath featured a Grand March for the large group of family and guests. Too bad it was raining and thus conducting the event outdoors was out of the question, A very enjoyable Scottish event.

I was hired to play at a celebratory game at DeSales University played by the Men's Lacrosse Team. It was a dour and drizzling day as I led the team onto and around the field and then played as the entire team warmed up. It was a great experience.

I was hired to play at the wedding of Patrick and Beth in the Rotunda of the State Capitol in Harrisburg, PA, - certainly a magnificent venue. I played at the end of ceremony as the Bridal Couple descended the large staircase in the center of the expansive room. The couple had requested that I play The Gael for a Recessional and a number of other traditional Scottish tunes. The acoustics were certainly amazing!

During intermittent wet snow showers, I played at the funeral and interment of an Irish-American gentleman at the Parklawns Memorial Gardens Columbarium in Chambersburg, PA. I wore traditional Irish attire and was pleased to have my cloak which was worn in the fashion of the Royal Irish Fusiliers. I played Irish traditional tunes which were selected by the deceased's son. He especially wanted to hear "St. Patrick's Day...in the morning."

A PA Army National Guard detail from Fort Indiantown Gap provided the flag detail. The deceased was also a former member of the Kiltie Band of York. It was cold, but clear.

I played at the Memorial Service for an Irish-American, and US Air Force veteran at the St. Basil's Parish Church in Phoenixville, PA. Two Airmen, assigned to the Dover AFB in Delaware, arrived as the flag detail. Military Honors were rendered before the Mass. At the conclusion, I played the Air Force Song, followed by a selection of Irish tunes and then The Flowers of the Forest. A very moving tribute.

At almost the last minute, I was called to play at the funeral of a firefighter who had tragically died very young. The funeral was held at the Grandview Memorial Park. The gravesite was on a hilltop with a grand view of the surrounding valley. The funeral cortege consisted of over 60 vehicles. I played as the casket was conveyed to the gravesite through a double column of colleagues and friends.

I played at the funeral/memorial service for a deceased USMC Vietnam-era veteran. I played during the Mass at the St. Catherine Laboure R.C. Church in Harrisburg, PA. Following the Mass. full military honors were rendered outside the church. I closed the ceremony by playing The Flowers of the Forest. The remains of the deceased had already been donated to medical science.

On Sunday, 11/27/22, I played at the Kirkin' of the Tartans service at the Camp Hill Presbyterian Church. There were amazing acoustics in this magnificent church, built in 1950. I spoke to many of the parishioners, a number of whom had Scottish ancestry. I played for the Processional and Recessional, and also Adeste Fidelis during the Offertory.
