Poor Man's Gambit was awesome! They played for the first hour of our wedding reception as guest's arrived and everyone had nothing but great things to say about their performance, as well as enthusiasm. They were so friendly that we invited them to stay, eat, drink and dance with us! Loved everything about working with them - they are super responsive and accommodating. Thank you all again for a great night!

Poor Man's Gambit performed an incredible show! They showed up a few minutes early to set up, were very respectful and kind, and were extremely talented. Leading up to the day of our event, my main contact, Corey Purcell, the lead, was very attentive to my email questions and requests. He always responded in a timely manner, and continued to be considerate and humble throughout. The group was a perfect addition to our corporate event, and I highly recommend them! We had an Irish Pub Night; however, they would be an exceptional addition to any event.

The guys were amazing. They carried everything up 3 flights of stairs with no complaints to get to our social hall. Everyone loved the music and they played even longer than the agreed time. Excellent musicians and great people. I highly reccomend them and will be going to see them play again.

Poor Man's Gambit played our wedding ceremony and cocktail hour on 6/3/16. My husband loves Irish music and I wanted to surprise him and he absolutely loved it... everyone did! Poor Man's Gambit performed for a whole school assembly at my elementary school. Students ranged in age from Kindergarten to fifth grade students. The students loved the performance. I appreciated their willingness to talk about the different music and instruments they were playing. They were very accommodating and easy to work with. I would absolutely recommend having them play at your event.

Absolutely wonderful. Poor Man’s Gambit helped make our wedding uniquely memorable and we’ve received many compliments about the band from our guests, ranging from a 3-year old to those in the seventies — everyone loved them. Highly recommended. We would hire them again and are in fact thinking of future parties we might have as an excuse to ask them back. I’ve been listening to their albums since they performed.

BOOK THEM NOW. Poor Man's Gambit came to play at our corporate "St. Patrick's Day-themed" happy hour event in Manhattan and they are absolutely amazing. Corey is incredibly helpful and professional from start to finish. He accommodated my request for a fiddle player when we went with the duo option :) They were phenomenal. Sound was great and our employees loved it. PMG played a great mix of fast and slow. All around amazing! Can't express that enough! Will keep them in mind for future events!
