Wedding Reception•Reviewed on June 30, 2011•From Walnut Grove, CA
After we paid the deposit, we were left not knowing if we were going to have a dj at our wedding due to nearly 3 months of no communication. He failed to communicate with anyone other than the groom and with that, refused to initially coordinate through emails. Our playlist was not worked on until the day before the wedding and he was still fixing things the day of. He was incapable of working with the wedding site staff that day and left it up to the groom to handle. He started the first dance and father-daughter dance songs without the bride's parents. His amateur performance at the reception was embarrassing. DJ Buddy Holly is not an MC and should not do weddings.
:
They received a receipt from Gigmasters and appeared on my calendar. I then e-mailed my wedding questionnaire, thanked them, and asked to touch base soon. They sent in the wedding questionnaire four days before the wedding when I require the questionnaire to be received three weeks prior to the wedding. I left messages and received no call backs. Then about a month down the road, the client started calling my cell and home numbers leaving 3 to 4 messages a day. We then agreed for me to correspond with the groom only. They changed songs up until the day of the wedding. The wedding coordinator left early. The groom cued the all special dances.

If you are looking for a DJ that is professional and flexible, please do not consider DJ Buddy Holly. Although he was on time and did his job, he was not pliable at all. He was willing to walk away from a commitment mid travel because of parking charges of $16.00. He refused to unpack his car until he received $16.00 for the parking. Also when a guest requested to hear a song a second time, he refused to play it until he received an approval from the person paying him. This could have easily been remedied by saying on the mic that this was requested by a guest. I will NEVER hire him again for ANYTHING.
:
The client agreed to pay for parking prior to the performance. In terms of the song, a drunk girl asked me if I could play "Baby Got Back" two times in a row. I said, "That's fine, I just need approval from my client."

He was very rude and argumentative with pretty much anybody he came in contact with included myself the bride and the groom. He was not helpfully at all with any accommodations asked of him from the coordinator or manager. He was all in all rude and I regret hiring him for our wedding. He truely ruined my day and even admitted to having the wrong wedding info on his screen for most of my wedding. He is a true jerk.
:
I had guests at the end of the night telling me I did a great job and were asking me for my business card. I did everything the client asked and the client is lying in saying that I had the wrong info on my computer screen. The groom told me he didn't want to do a location change from the ceremony to the reception. He asked me to set up the equipment inside and face the speakers towards the outdoors ceremony. The wedding coordinator was upset because we had to prop the doors open. She said it would affect the air conditioning and didn't offer a logical solution. This client is simply dishonest.
