We hired Tom for a Paella party at our church. Tom is not only a talented musician but was very gracious with our request for him to play in two locations that evening - thus having to move his equipment from outside to inside for the dinner portion of the night. We hired Tom to play for our backyard wedding ceremony. Not only did he learn songs just for us, but he also navigated the difficult outdoor terrain and weather of our venue, with 2 different playing locations. He is incredibly communicative, prompt, and thorough. His music filled the air with life and put people in such amazing spirits. So many of our guests made comments to us like “the guitar player was unreal” and “wait was that the melody for that Lady Gaga song??” He is unbelievably versatile and his own compositions are truly breathtaking. Tom brings a unique splash of energy and vibrancy to any event with his playing. A true professional. HIGHLY recommended!

Hiring Tom for our cocktail hour music was one of the best decisions we made. He was great to work with from the beginning to the end. Very responsive during the planning and made everything so much easier. Tom, as other reviewers have mentioned, was completely professional. He arrived early to ensure he was ready to perform when the party began. Many guests mentioned how enjoyable Tom's music was and how much it added to the party. Tom went above and beyond to accommodate us in every way. His musical selections couldn't have been better. During his breaks he mixed easily with guests as they came up to talk with him.
There is no way I can rate Tom high enough. We will certainly hire Tom for all future celebrations.

Many of our guests commented that his music was excellent. He was on time and had a perfect equipment setup for his performance here. We hired him for his Latin music talents which was perfectly in "tune" with our expectations. We would certainly hire him again for an event where we wanted an acoustic guitar player either "plugged" or "unplugged".

Mr. Duarte played at my parent's 50th wedding anniversary party for 135 guests. Everyone was impressed with his playing. He was very professional. Tom is a talented performer. He prices his services very competitively and is professional in his interactions.
I put together a birthday party at a hotel for my wife. Tom arrived early, set up with no help from us and performed flawlessly the whole evening. He let me borrow his mic whenever I needed it for announcements.
Everybody enjoyed his music and appreciated his low key personality. If you are looking for an MC to manage your party for you Tom may not be the best guy. But if you are looking for an outstanding guitarist to provide quality music I would highly recommend him. I'd hire him again in a heartbeat.

While Sanjiv's comments were good and I did receive a 5 star review, I feel that the comment made about my not being 'the best guy to MC' (emcee) was necessary. I did quote him a very reasonable fee to
perform my function as a background musician. After we had confirmed, he asked if I could make some announcements but then changed his mind and said that he could make them himself. I did provide a microphone and I managed the PA system as he requested so that he and his family could make some very personal announcements, but I was not initially hired as an emcee. I only mention this because I would hope that the comment will not dissuade any potential future clients.

I have to admit that my husband and I did not have the opportunity to hear Tom play at our event, however everyone I asked about his performance said that they loved it.
