Many of our guests commented that his music was excellent. He was on time and had a perfect equipment setup for his performance here. We hired him for his Latin music talents which was perfectly in "tune" with our expectations. We would certainly hire him again for an event where we wanted an acoustic guitar player either "plugged" or "unplugged".
His demeanor and professionalism added much class to our small winery's wine club member evening.

Mr. Duarte played at my parent's 50th wedding anniversary party for 135 guests. Everyone was impressed with his playing. He was very professional. He arrived on time and he was accommodating to our request for classical music only. I would hire him again in the future. I highly recommend Mr. Duarte as a classical guitarist.

Tom is a talented performer. He prices his services very competitively and is professional in his interactions.
I put together a birthday party at a hotel for my wife. Tom arrived early, set up with no help from us and performed flawlessly the whole evening. He let me borrow his mic whenever I needed it for announcements.
Everybody enjoyed his music and appreciated his low key personality. If you are looking for an MC to manage your party for you Tom may not be the best guy. But if you are looking for an outstanding guitarist to provide quality music I would highly recommend him. I'd hire him again in a heartbeat.

While Sanjiv's comments were good and I did receive a 5 star review, I feel that the comment made about my not being 'the best guy to MC' (emcee) was necessary. I did quote him a very reasonable fee to
perform my function as a background musician. After we had confirmed, he asked if I could make some announcements but then changed his mind and said that he could make them himself. I did provide a microphone and I managed the PA system as he requested so that he and his family could make some very personal announcements, but I was not initially hired as an emcee. I only mention this because I would hope that the comment will not dissuade any potential future clients.

I have to admit that my husband and I did not have the opportunity to hear Tom play at our event, however everyone I asked about his performance said that they loved it. They said the music was great, fun, and the level of sound was perfect for the venue. Tom was very professional over the phone and looked very professional at the event. Tom was a pleasure to work with and played absolutely beautiful music at our small wedding ceremony. He was very accommodating, had great communication, and was very receptive to some of our song requests. Not to mention he is an amazing guitarist that had many guests speaking his praises! Tom was communicative prior to the event. Arrived on time and was very professional. He is very talented and my only wish was that my timing of our event would have been better to enjoy more of his music. It went too quickly and before I knew it he was done. We hired Tom to perform at our wedding reception in the redwoods. He was amazing on all fronts, but some takeaways:
-he was super easy to work with on logistics, was very fast to respond to emails, and accomodating to our requests (we asked for him to add a few songs to his repertoire)
-his price is super reasonable! A brings a lot of value
-he was the perfect accompaniment for our event - an upbeat and latin-inflected acoustic sound. just lovely.
-His sound was especially great for the setting - echoing through the towering trees. It was ethereal and PERFECT.
-We got many compliments for him, and we can't recommend him enough.

Tom contacted me immediately after I hired him for our corporate event to ensure he was available on the date requested, provide additional samples of his music, discuss attire, and of course, review his song selections and approach. He arrived in advance of the event and set himself up with little direction and began performing shortly thereafter. This gave me the opportunity to focus my energy and attention to the other elements of our event. He played continuously and had background music playing while he took his break, which allowed continuous music during our event. Tom was fantastic to work with. I would highly recommend him for your next event.

What can I say about Tom that probably isn't already known. Tom showed up early and did not require much direction. He brought all of his gear up and was set up in no time. He played for us in our office while we had a Latin American/Spanish influenced evening. The songs he played were traditional but were also more modern songs that people would recognize which was nice. He was professional, super nice and I would recommend him for any intimate or relaxing setting type of event. Everybody on the team loved having him play for us and you would have never known he was there that's how seamless it was while he was here.

Tom was very accommodating from the begin of our wedding planning process until now after we have gotten married. Tom took the time to learn my husband and my song to pay as I walked down the aisle. All of Tom's songs were beautiful and he played a very good variety of modern and Spanish songs.
