He had the attention of the audience of children the entire 45 min show. He also had enough asides for the adults that we were also entertained. He was respectful of our needs throughout.

Since John himself was booked for the time I needed him, he recommended his partner Rob who I was very pleased with. He showed up to the party early to make sure he was not late due to traffic, parking, etc. It was my daughter's 1st year bithday party and I had 70 people (25 kids). The kids loved him and so did all my adult guests! Everyone was entertained throughout his entire show. And he made balloon figures for all the kids afterwards. The party was a huge success thanks in part to Rob's performance!

John caralson was very proffesional and entertaining. However, I would have liked to seen a little more magic and less humor in the show.I would definitly use him again but, I would request more magic.

Unfortunately John got hurt and was unable to perform at the party, however he did find me an AMAZING replacement! Tom Durnin!!! Tom is AWESOME! He gets EVERYONE invloved in the family show and the adults loved him just as much as the kids! I was very very impressed with him and I know he will definetly be getting some business for people who were at my party! I was happy that John was very professional and found me a replacement & I'm sure John would have been great if he hadn't gotten hurt! Thanks so much!

John Carlson can't do the show but instead he recommended me his partner PETER, the kids and adults were fascinated with his performance, Isabella interacted 90% off the show, which is great!!!!! I will highly recommend PETER for future occasions. after a week we all continue talking about it. Thanks John and Peter for the wonderful time.

The magician was late to the event, he seemed tired and not very energetic. He was to entertain children from the ages of 3 to 15 , 17 kids in all. His act, other than the balloon animals, did not keep any of the children entertained at all - his act was not geared for children. And it seemed like he could not wait to leave, which was pretty rude considering he was late.

I did Not perform this show. This woman was located 140 miles a way from me, way out of my range for a kid's party. She said she could not find anyone in her area, so I recommended another magician to her since he was the only guy who I knew of in that area. This is what I get for trying to help other people. If you hire me and YOU are NOT happy...YOU DON'T PAY. I AM THE ONLY MAGIAN THAT OFFERS THAT GUARANTEE!

We did not have John Carlson as our performer-he double booked and we were given someone else-Mr. Lou Angelucci -He did happen to work out just fine ,however,it was not want we wanted . I find this process with Gig Masters to be confusing and not so reassuring when doing the booking-there are too many people to be dealing with .This whole ordeal leaves me a bit annoyed.

I booked John Carlson two weeks before our party on GigMasters. He was the most expensive by far but I talked the board into hiring him for the event because of comments I read about him on GigMasters and because he had a website where I could see he has a great act. He ignored the booking and my two follow up e-mails. The week of the show I called him and he said that he "always has trouble booking through GigMasters" and that he booked two other shows for the day. (You do the math, our one small show, or two other bookings?) In the end, it was too close to get another entertainer on my own and John said he would get in touch with his friend Stephen Christopher who ended up doing the show for us. Stephen was good. The kids enjoyed his show. Though, in my mind, he could have been the best magician ever and it still would not have made up for John Carlson's lack of professionalism. If he had called to say he might have two other bookings for that day and that he wanted to back out ahead of time, I could have gotten another entertainer that cost over $120 less.

The Gigmaster client booked online through Gigmasters which in my opinion is totally unreliable as I have had this problem with Gigmasters before. She booked it online through GM and never bothered to call me by phone. I don't hold any dates unless I talk to a customer on the phone and get a deposit to hold the date. In this case neither has happened. She called me on the phone the day before her event and I explained to her that that day was already booked and that I had this problem with Gigmasters before. I referred her to another magician and she was happy with him. Please DO NOT rely on Gigmasters lousy online booking system. It is so important that you CALL!!!

We reached out via telephone and email at least six times in the weeks prior to the event to confirm and find out what equipment he would need and he never returned a call or an email. Went on his website and he had us on his schedule so I was hoping that meant he would show up. He didn't. We had no entertainment for this event and everyone was very disappointed, obviously. Horrible experience, can't believe how unprofessional he was to not even reach out to us. Would never recommend this act.

John cancelled the event because he was sick and sent someone in his place last minute who wasn't at all what I would expect for a kids bday party. He wasn't funny or particularly engaging for the children. In general, the entire process of working with John was confusing and tedious. I also paid a lot of money for John's services and he didn't offer to discount the performance even though he wasn't the one that did the show.

I will never recommend this site. I hired John and was told 2 days before the party he was sending his partner. John stated he told me this when I booked him. I think I would have remembered this. I paid $350.00 for the deluxe show. I found out the replacement only charges $295.00. I emailed Gigmasters for help and told them I only wanted to deal with them. They stated they could not help with a refund and I would need to speak to John. What did I pay the $20.00 booking fee for? Oh and the magician did 3 or 4 tricks that I could have learned in 10 mins and was like a prison warden with the bunny. I'm still waiting to hear from Gigmasters (party was May 18th)

We had Joe as our magician for my wife’s 40th birthday and he was amazing. He was entertaining he was funny and he saw everyone at the party. Everyone had a great time. I got many compliments. Thank you Joe for making our party even better
