Back in the 1980s, David and his family immigrated from the People's Republic of China, and settled in Dallas, Texas. David’s parents would go on to establish themselves as culinary trailblazers of Chinese fast food in the US during the 1990s. After graduating from college, David joined the corporate world only to realize his passion lay in something familiar. In 2015, he would quit his job and follow in his parents’ footsteps, opening Lao Tao.
