We REALLY enjoyed having Sensory Expressions perform at my husband's 40th birthday event! Everyone commented on how nice it was to hear music that was a little "different" and that added such a nice, festive atmosphere to our party. They were on time and were very nice people. I would highly recommend them to anyone!

Recently, our law firm held its annual attorney/spouse party. Approximately 100 people attended the event, which was Caribbean themed. We searched the East Coast for the BEST Caribbean band to set the right atmosphere for our event. We were impressed with Vaughn and his group from the first contact through his kind follow up at the end. They are a remarkably talented group of musicians who make you feel that you are in the Caribbean with your "toes in the water and butt in the sand." Pros and cons...many of which were brought to my attention from multiple guests: PROs: 1) Sound quality 2) Volume was good level 3) Equipment worked 4) Style was fitting CONs: 1) He was 25 minutes late starting, but yet left on time...he was setting up and waiting on another member 2) Asked a handicapped guest move her car to avoid walking 25 feet, though equipment was on dolly and drive was paved 3) Many guests complained about the obvious frustration of Vauhn when people were "in his way" 4) He did not communicate what he needed in the space before, forcing me to leave my guests to accommodate at last minute 5) Overall, seemed rude...would NOT recommend

The clients were given complete information as to what was needed and expected. All information is also clearly noted in the signed contract, which states cover from the elements (it was raining) and a sturdy table for equipment; neither of which was setup upon our arrival. Music was started on time before 7pm as agreed with some adjustments to accomodate for the rain with the live music, starting shortly after. Any late start in live music was a direct result of the client not fullfilling contractual obligations as noted in the contract,Electricity and water do not mix. Great music, continuous live play and then recorded music played during clean up. Nice touch! Only issue was late arrival which delayed our surprise party time. I was surprised that no price adjustment was offered for the late arrival - had to pay full price. No complaints about music or performance - all very good. This is more of "background" music instead of a DJ leading a party. Overall, I would recommend this performer. Price is a bit high.

It was explained to the client in advance that my schedule would be tight since it was close to the end of my church time. I started playing music at the required time 1pm and playing live at 1:05pm, 5minutes after the start time! I also played for the entire time with no breaks as noted in the contract;at a reduced initial price break of($50 dollars). As per the notation on billing this is normal billing rates for live steel drum music and even DJ service prices are higher. It was noted in advance to the client that as a solo performer I play along with my programed background music and if she wanted a full band that could be provided at the appropriate price.

We have used Vaughn in the past and it was just as great this time as it was the first time we used him! We called him last minute and he was able to fit us in. Our families loved the music and it made our luau a hit!
