You may have watched this scary, super fun franchise on the big screen or in the safety and comfort of your home. But today, you can transport your kids and their favorite giant creatures to the party of a lifetime with these Jurassic Park party ideas.
As you and your mini dinosaur enthusiasts eagerly await the next big installment of Jurassic Park—you can still have fun celebrating their birthday or milestone event with a Jurassic Park themed party.

Host in Your Backyard
Big or small, your backyard can be the perfect backdrop for your kids' very own Jurassic Park themed party. You can use grass and tall trees to your advantage and turn this area into a dinosaur's dream come true. Your backyard will be your canvas.
For example, you can use an outside area to place a cute sand pit for excavation games or a large astroturf to create a rich, green jungle perfect for dinosaurs.
Ticket Invites
Your kid's invitation can be in the shape of a ticket with the Jurassic Park logo, the date, the time, and a fake barcode at the bottom. To do this, all you'll need is a large sandbox filled with lost dinosaur bones. Once you've buried every item, you can create a map for your kids to find every ancient fossil. The child with the most missing pieces wins!
Rex Rover
You might have heard of the game "Red Rover," but have you played red rover as a terrifying T-REX? The game starts with one of the children on one side of the room while their friends stand on the other side of the room.
The kid standing alone will be the T-REX and yell "Red Rover, Red Rover," as well as their friend's name to "come over." Once a friend is called, they must run as fast as possible to get past the T-REX and toward safety.
Slime Attack
Inspired by the venom-spitting dinosaur, the Dilophosaurus, slime attack is a game where your kids can run, hide, jump, and throw tons of slime. All you'll need is a couple of balloons filled with green gooey slime. If you can't find or don't have access to slime at your toy store, you can create your own giant ball of slime with a mixture of green and yellow food coloring, baking soda, and a touch of glue.
Dinosaur Hands
Does your child want to create their very own dinosaur? With a bucket of paint, you can help them and their friends make a dinosaur that they can take home. To begin, you can provide each guest with a white canvas or a large sheet of paper. Then, have each child pick their favorite color paint and let them paint their entire hand in one color.
Once each kid is ready, they can slap their hand on the canvas and create their own dinosaur hand. Your kid can add cute googly eyes or a touch of glitter to complete their painting!
Stuck in the Mud
Stuck in the mud is a game of tag, but instead of getting someone else to be the tagger, your kid gets tagged, freezes, and slowly melts in an imaginary patch of quicksand. To start the game, you'll have to appoint one kid to tag everyone while the rest of the team runs away.
If a team member notices that their friend is stuck and needs help, it's their job to run and save them. Only problem... they'll need to be as quick as they can; otherwise, the tagger will find them and tag them too! If everyone is stuck, the tagger wins the game and gets to appoint a new person to be the tagger.
