It’s the most wonderful time of the year! The fall season is a special one, as it’s scents and scenes bring great joy and nostalgia. The start of fall is a cause for a celebration - here are our 3 ideas for some fall party fun:

Party In or Out

One of the many great things about fall is that you can celebrate both inside and outside!  It’s the start of football season, so why not host a backyard tailgate? Begin by inviting guests over for some backyard games or host a football viewing party indoors. You can find football inspired decor and food ideas on our pinterest board.

Depending on where you live, fall nights can be quite chilly. Set up a bonfire (it’ll help with warmth as well as ambiance!) with a s’mores station!  Include various chocolates and toppings so that guests can make custom treats to their liking.

It is officially sweater weather, so if you’re hosting an outdoor event, provide some extra layering of hoodies and blankets for friends to cozy up in.

Festive Fall Dinner

Thanksgiving is just around the corner. Get some extra practice for the big day by hosting an elegant dinner party with loved ones. We like to call it “Friendsgiving”; a Thanksgiving-inspired meal shared with friends and relatives who typically have commitments to travel or be with immediate family during the holiday.

As for decorating, use a mix of rustic and modern centerpieces and place settings.  Party decorations don’t have to cost a fortune, but they can easily look expensive!  There are tons of free printables and invitations online that can tie your party together beautifully.  Paint various sized pumpkins in monochromatic colors to create a charming and contemporary display.  For a more luxurious look, use gold paint or glitter.  Cut out the tops of smaller pumpkins and place tealights inside for a beautiful glow during dinner.  Make your event more intimate by bringing in a live musician.

Save your refrigerator from clutter by making personalized to go boxes so that you can send your friends home with leftovers. Find some inspiration on hosting Friendsgiving here.

Seasonal Harvest Parties

Nothing says “fall” like apple and pumpkin picking. One of the best things about this season is the fresh crops that are harvested from it. There are countless recipes for dinners, side dishes, desserts and drinks that can be made from both apples and pumpkins. There are also endless possibilities when using them in arts and crafts and various DIY projects.

Host an apple picking and baking party. Round up your friends and family to go to a local orchard - there’s a lot more to see than just apples, such as petting zoos, corn mazes and more!  Once you have everything you need, head home to the kitchen! There are so many different things you can make with apples such as pies, cider, and doughnuts.

You can host a similar party with pumpkins! If you’d rather not have a group outing to a pumpkin patch, buy a bunch of varying pumpkins and set one up in your backyard.  This will make the day much easier while allowing your guests to handpick their gourd of choice.  Set up art tables for carving or painting with all necessary tools and materials.  Keeping everything outside means very little clean up!
