Summer Barbecue Party Ideas

Now that we’ve said goodbye (and good riddance) to old man winter, it’s time to focus on the summer months and the awesome parties that come with them. Let’s talk about everyone’s favorite summer entertaining pastime – the good old fashioned, barbecue!

Backyard barbecues can be as casual or as elaborate as you want – it’s all up to you. Some people like to keep their gatherings simple, with some tasty BBQ grub, refreshing drinks and a relaxed atmosphere. Other people like to go all out and put together the barbecue event of the season (that will make all of their neighbors jealous).  That’s where we come in.

GigMasters has everything from bounce houses and tents to clowns and bands, all of which will help take your BBQ to the next level. Let’s start with music. Sure, you could update your iPod to play your favorite tunes, but we all know that’s not very exciting. If you really want your guests to party, hiring a live band or DJ is the way to go. Cover bands and mobile DJ’s are great for diverse audiences – you can provide a song list and make sure they play exactly what you and your guests want to hear.

Some folks like to add a fun theme to their summer BBQ’s. If brisket and hush puppies are on the menu, a bluegrass band could add a little country twang to your backyard hoe-down. To add some island flavor, hire a reggae band to create a worry-free atmosphere. Going with a luau theme? Why not book a Jimmy Buffett tribute band?

Will your party be a family affair? If the kiddies will be in attendance, you will need something to keep them entertained. Bounce houses are the perfect fit for backyard barbecues. The kids will love it and bounce houses have been known to tire little ones out, which means parents will love you! Face painters and balloon twisters also make great options for keeping the youngsters happy in any setting.

When you are planning a party outside, it never hurts to rent a party tent for a little event insurance. You’ll be glad you have a tent if the forecast is calling for a few showers. Even if the weatherman says it’s going to be a clear day, your guests will appreciate an area with some cool shade.

Are you ready to plan a sizzling summer barbecue? Let’s do it!
